Bountiful Treasure Map

So, I accidentally used mine on an 8, not knowing that on an 11, you can get 10 Gilded Crests.

I’ve maxed my 3 Gilded Caches, but am curious of the following if anyone can help?

Can you get more than one treasure map per week on the same character?

Is there a catch-up mechanic on Gilded Crests if you miss any?

What is the weekly limit from Delves? 21 from the caches and 10 from the treasure map?

Thank you,

1 map per character per week

Is this confirmed somewhere?

Nope.

Nope.

Correct!

No catchup which is lame, if a delve only player goes on vacation for a week they’re behind.

Meanwhile an M+ player could take a month off, come back and smash keys nonstop til they cap.

Yes, it’s one map per week. So if you goofed like the op and I both did you can’t get the 31 this week and be able to craft a myth piece next week. Unless of course you can run m+7 for more.

Max Gilded crests per week is…
7 gilded crest from tier 11 bountiful, max of 3 a week
10 gilded crest from tier 11 map chest, max 1 a week

So you can get 31 a week and craft a myth piece every 2 weeks

TLDR: run 3 bountiful tier 11 per week, use map in one of them for 31 gilded crests

Behind what? We’re only playing Delves.

being able to craft myth pieces every 2 weeks is the only behind, or less crests to upgrade other gear. Assuming of course you can’t or don’t run m+7

Behind another playing delves, crest wise.

LOL what?

Who cares??

I do or I wouldn’t have commented probably.

I think it’s bad design that if I run three delves this week and three delves next week I can have 62 gilded crests… but if I run none this week and six next week I can only have 31.

Either way Blizz gets the same amount of time played out of me.

I think it’s nonsensical. You aren’t behind anyone or anything. It’s just Delves. lol

Chill out, have fun. They’re meant to be casual and relaxed.

It’s the gearing progression that they’re behind on now. Like many things in this game, if you make a mistake like running an 8 instead of an 11 because it wasn’t clear to begin with, you WILL be behind the other people who didn’t make that mistake because they gave hard capped the rewards in most form of content. You could run M+7 or Myth Raid, but that’s honestly not open to everybody.

It feels bad to “waste” a once-a-week chance at something. Especially when it’s not even a difficult thing. You should be able to “make it up” or something.

The gearing caps are too harsh and doing things incorrectly in the absence of clear guidance by the game sets you behind others by about a week for each mistake.

There is nothing to be behind on. Literally nothing. This isn’t a race with others. There’s nothing that stops you from running Delves later if you missed some Crests. No one is being ranked by what they do weekly in Delves.

This is put in place for a very good reason: so higher ladders aren’t farming Delves for Crests.

It’s fine. I don’t have Gilded this week. I don’t even have 11s unlocked yet. It doesn’t matter. This season is like six months long. What are we in a hurry for?

You don’t understand gearing. If i had the 31 from this week i could get 31 more Tuesday and craft a 675 ilvl weapon which is a huge upgrade. Only getting 25 this week moves that back a week and slows all progression.

This is assuming I don’t run a m+7 to get the extra gilded as you need 60 to craft a 675 piece. I am not asking for a catch up because i will run a 7 to get the extra crest to craft. It just sucks that it’s not clear in the game that you have to use the map on an 11.

I think you may not understand gilded from delves specifically, if you miss a week those 31 cannot be caught up on from delves.

Simply put again if you do three this week and three next week you’ll end up with 62 crests. If you do none this week and six next week you’ll end up with 31 for the extract same six delves

I understand what you’re saying, but that’s assuming if those M+ players can get into keys consistently though, I don’t know how annoying the vetting process is for keys in S2 but last season there were complaints coming from M+ players talking about hard it was to grind on alts. Mythic raiders gilded crest source is also poor as well if they’re not running keys but they really don’t have a choice.

Once the crest cap unlock, delvers will pretty much go to the moon farming T11s for Runed Crests to conversion.

Higher ladders might not be farming Delves for crests, I bet they are getting the maximum amount from Delves, but they may not be farming them. But those people you’re talking about not doing that are Myth level raiders. Literally everybody else is getting the map and the maximum amount of crests from Delves.

And those in the know got 10 more than those not in the know, and it puts those not in the know one week behind.

Delves are not just easy solo content for people who don’t raid or do M+. They messed that up by making it an easy source for Gilded Crests and a piece of Hero gear. The gear and crests you get from those Delves will carry you to the end of Heroic raid 2 months from now.

If they wanted to do caps like that what they should have done was say that each player can receive a maximum of 31 crests from the Delves per week. Frankly, same with the maps. You should be able to use a map as many times as you want but if they want to limit it, you can only get a maximum of one Heroic piece of gear per week. With both things, the cap should carry over to the next week.

That’s a huge part of why people are dissatisfied and get such icky feelings in this game. There’s too many situations like this where is you weren’t in the know then you’ve done something you can’t easily recover from. You have to log in every day in this game. There’s so much legitimate FOMO. And, unfortunately, even when people do log in every day and do their best, something like this happens and many of us learn that what we did was wrong-- The information in the game made no mention of an extra 10 crests if you did the map on 11.

And, as usual, the only way out of that hole is to farm M+, which I think a vast majority of players would agree are not fun anymore. They made them easier, I guess, but I personally have no desire to do that ever again. It was fun in Dragonflight with the 20 key levels and… it was fun. Then last season it was so stressful that I felt like I needed to scream and collapse every time one was finally over.

So that’s the problem. If they didn’t do this, they are behind one week unless they want to farm +7 keys. They’re behind because the people running Delves trying to get Gilded crests aren’t the people who enjoy logging in to play Delves, the people running Delves are trying to gear up for raid or to be equipped enough to push 7s in M+.

I understand it perfectly. I explained why it is that way, as well.

And if someone misses a week of M+ and still only has time to run a couple few M+ every week, they aren’t “catching up” either. If a raider misses a week and doesn’t run M+, they aren’t catching up either.

But for Delves… there’s nothing to catch up to. 11s are our ceiling. That gear isn’t getting any higher than 8s and it’s purposely meant to slow us down and make sure no one else farms Delves for these Crests.

I won’t have any Gilded for at least two weeks. It doesn’t matter. There’s still six months here and we’re going to hit our ceiling regardless.

I disagree with this, my Rogue was 631 last season without ever having to step into keys. You can’t really say have no options when you refuse to take the other options available to you.

Once you outgrow Runed, you’ll pretty much start converting upwards, especially once the cap removes. The runed acquisition rate is MUCH better than it was last season and I won’t be surprised plenty of delvers aren’t gonna take advantage of that once they outgrow Runed.
