I also used my Treasure Map on a T8 because I got one early and was focused on getting the Hero item, and so I ended up screwing myself on the Gilded Crests. I’m not too worried, because I’m saving my sparks for a 2H staff and I will be running M+ +7 and above soon. It’s still frustrating to not have it explained better in-game.

Blizzard did mess up on the Crest UI.
- It doesn’t say you need to clear a bountiful to see the gilded stash
- It also doesn’t tell you to Gilded Crest scales up from T8-11

I can’t believe people are arguing against this. If people have the time and dedication to put towards this game they should be allowed to catch up. People who jumped in early and did what they thought, with every bit of available information, they could do to gear up ASAP, missed out on a BiS crafted piece of gear next week. And until a couple months from now, they will be forever behind by one week unless they want to run M+.

Yes, but that is not the argument. Of course you can take the long road and upconvert crests and be well geared at the end.
The argument is if you do your delves correctly you have 31 gilded per week and can craft a 675 ilvl piece every 2 weeks. If you don’t do them correctly you get less gilded and move that craft back because it is not a cap on gilded you can get per week from delves. It is a max you can get each week, if you goof you can’t just run another bountiful 11 to get back to 31. It is poorly worded in game so there is no way of knowing a tier 8 map only gives 4(unless you research everything before doing it and what fun is that)

And I agree with that, Blizzard screwed up handling that information to the player.
People shouldn’t have to learn from the PTR on how it should work.

And you’re 100% we will end up hitting our gear cap anyways, no one should be stressing about 10 gilded or even 30 so I wasn’t trying to make it sound like a life changing event.
I just think blizz is making moves to make things more alt friendly, more casual friendly, and they are succeeding. But then they do something like this which “punishes,” someone for not being able to log in for the week. Or accidental using a map in the wrong place.

I got a map and used it on a tier 5 because I didn’t read and assumed it was the same as last season, that the map would only give me loot at the same level as the delve it dropped in. I also activated my second account and for the first time spent money on it to buy epic TWW and the bear transmog mount. Not my best week lol.

One of the many reasons I love Delves.
That’s not really what I am upset about, if you were referring to me. It’s just that no clear communication was mentioned on this. For a new expansion feature, Delves, you’d think they’d communicate more exciting and cool features about it.
But hey, now I know better to save it for an 11.

Yeah I was lucky i k knew because I watched some videos, but we shouldn’t need YouTube for an in game feature they’re trying to build up
The only real catch-up I hope they consider is Valorstones. Last season about half way through, I had alts that had many upgrades worth of Crests, but lacked the Valorstones.
Oh, I used some of my maps on 8s I think and some on 11s depending on if I got the maps early before I had done 3/3 11s yet on that character. Guess I’ll have to pay more attention to that from now on.
I think they could easily change the 3/3 weekly gilded chest system to a seasonal cap system that continues to increase each week, but they probably won’t since they’re reluctant to make content this easy give gilded in the first place.
I have a bountiful map on my hunter and mage and only going to do them on T8s this week. I’m not ready for any version of an 11. No thank u.
Very hard on a dps that can’t heal bran. He just dies and leaves you high and dry. Much easier on a tank or healer

This toon struggled more than I thought it would in my first 11 ending with only 1 life left then I swapped to Brew and even though it’s the worst Tank this Season I got Immortal Spelunker on the first run.
I did not know you got gilded crests in addition to the 21 weekly cap. I did mine in an 8 too. Ah, well. In a couple weeks we’ll be swimming in them anyway.
