Botting via the WoW Companion App

There is a player who is using the WoW Companion app to snipe the Auction house on multiple realms 0-24H via bots. I’m talking about at least 8 servers. This is not his first rodeo and his previous accounts were banned about a week ago. Back then he was doing this ingame so it was possible to report him. That’s not the case this time.

I don’t want to go into details here because due to forum rules you can’t name and shame other players. However I did some pretty significant testing and I’m 100% certain it’s a bot and he is doing it via the WoW Compaion app.

My question: What’s the best way to forward all the info I have to Blizz? If I open a ticket, can one of the support agents forward the info the appropriate team? If this player indeed found a way to hack/exploit the companion app, I feel like Blizzard needs to look into this ASAP.

If you believe that someone is exploiting, the best way to report it is by emailing Hacks@blizzard.com.

You may also submit a bug report through the in-game interface if you feel there is a vulnerability that is allowing someone to automate activity.

Thank you for the reply. I sent an email to that address. I also made a ticket, in case it helps.

With a bug report Vrakthris did not mean a GM ticket if you did that.

Yeah I understood what he meant. I just wanted to be double sure the info reaches Blizz so I made a ticket after the email. Surely it can’t hurt.

It won’t. There’s no problem reporting your suspicions.

And on a funny note…
