Botting - Please provide better feedback

Hi!

I’m loving the new expansion, and the changes to crafting. I work hard to collect materials to advance my own crafting goals. It makes it incredibly frustrating to see bots running around zones collecting materials and, essentially, devaluing my time.

I report them when I can catch them, or I kill them when I’m able (since I’m always in War Mode). It often feels like I’m throwing those reports into the void. I understand there’s a lot of work to try and catch/disable this type of cheating, but it would be great if someone from customer support would circle back and let me know that action has been taken, like reporting of hyper toxic behavior in Overwatch is structured.

It would go a long way to helping ease my frustrations to know that when I take the time to report a bot someone on Blizzard’s end is actually following up.

Thanks!

they often do.

perhaps the people you’re reporting are players, and there is no action to be taken?

As Nobully mentioned, Blizzard has started sending out in-game emails to notify you if your reports led to actions.

I have received notices last year on one of my alts who kept reporting the bots on Isle of Thunder.

Also, recently one of my alts received a letter after reporting bots in Bastion.

This has not been true in my experience, hence the forum post.

And maybe that is what’s happening (if so, it would be good to know that’s what has happened), but I’ve yet to meet any players, who are actually playing, that will not react in any way to you attacking them.

R&R is the only satisfaction we need and letting blizzard know you will see in a few months time the people coming here of complaining of unjust bans we dont need confirmation for doing the right thing.

when i was stuck on the minority faction of a pvp realm, it was faster to just stand there and die instead of fight back… because if i fought back and won, they’d come back with friends, and my farming was over for the day.

players may be in WM shards because the WM off shards are much more heavily farmed for resources

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. It can depend on my mood, or how many times someone attacked me, or if I need another cup of coffee. Sometimes I’m the one doing the attacking.

If I ever find myself, somehow, being attacked by another player, I will absolutely stand still and do nothing. I will not give someone the satisfaction of thinking they used their elite skills to kill me.
To be fair, I go out of my way to not get flagged for pvp in any way.

I’ll just turn around and /chicken them, since they’re too cowardly to actually wait until you’re not fighting something else, so it’s really all they deserve. :man_shrugging:

As an aside, if when I was playing (currently unsubbed) if I did not feel like putting up the fight so I could run back to my body and get on with what I was doing (always warmode on as well) I would completely ignore Alliance to try to finish the kill or whatever it was. So it does happen.
