Botting is not a Problem

This is completely the wrong take.

This isn’t a situation of “we think they’re bots”

This is a “they’re botting, and laughing at us while they do it” situation is such insane numbers that there’s more bots then players

Hell, I just queued a WSG. 5 out of 10 players are bots ON MY TEAM

I don’t PVP much, but in open world I reported 5 people in the past few months. And on 4 of em I got a response from blizzard that an action was taken.

I am saying this is the best we can do. Report them properly with a good report and they can get banned. Not saying this will remove botting, but that’s the best we as players can do to help.

I’ve reported north of 100 bots in the last 2 weeks and have had 0 in-game messages that indicate they were banned like you usually get.

Saying “just report them” does not work and is absolutely laughable

Yeah, go ahead and report every bot you see!

Did you write up something useful? or just simply reported with empty text or maybe some angry note?

Nope. Why spend 30 seconds reporting each bot when there’s 90 more to report? It’s already ~5 clicks to actually report each bot, which is outragious when you’re doing it back-to-back-to-back. How do we explain the DK named “hgfhgf” whose been in BGs for the last 60 hours is a bot?

Yeah, let’s off set community management to the player base. That’s a great idea!

I just gave you a way to contribute. I know it’s frustrating dude. It’s frustrating for all of us. But if you plan on doing something that’s what you can do to help. A report with no text message in it, doesn’t worth much.

I do hope Blizzard takes some major action on the botting in BGs no question. But that’s what you can do.

absolutely not. its a game, not your future social credit score.

that mountain of bots staring at the npc corpse is funny, just because of how sad it is. If only we could force them into pvp and just exterminate them.

I remember hunting bots at green dragons in runescape. There would be tons of them competing with each other all in junk level gear so they’d be easy kills. After a while you’d get the bots owner to appear. They would be fully decked out in the absolute best gear in the game

they do PvP

have you done a battleground recently? 1/3rd of the game is bots, minimum. I just had a WSG where 6/10 of my team were DK bots and the enemy team only had 1. I AFK’d out.

i mean the ones dungeon farming, if they could be forced into open world pvp, so they could at least be corpse camped and shut down properly

Yeah that’s fun and all, but eventually the players leave and they’re back to farming 24/7

Like what OP did with the mind controls was bloody brilliant. Unfortunately there’s 100s more behind those.

have u posted this on WOWs twitter, i dont think they even care about forums anymore

You’re absolutely right, that is the best thing we can do. The problem is, that’s not enough. The problem isn’t so much finding and banning the bots, the main problem is making sure they stay off. Bot runners often have 10+ accounts, so 2-3 from 1 person getting caught in a banwave isn’t a huge deal. Not to mention, they’ve already RMT’d so much that it’s not a big deal to create a new account, resub, reboost and then go back to botting.

Something needs to be done. Battlegrounds are almost unplayable due to the amount of DK bots infesting them.

i like how yall mc’d them and they are just running into the wall LOL

Blizz be like: I’m sorry I can’t hear you behind so much income noice from those bots.

Can we just admit the insane amount of literally free money blizzard is getting from all those accounts though. That money is rolling in

They are getting increasingly common at 80 too, since they eventually level up. They come into our BGs with junk gear and don’t do any objectives, basically dead weight that helps our enemies win. The only upside is that they have bots on their side too… so it really starts to boil down to who has less bots.

Let the bot wars begin…
