Bots Farming Mana Tombs

Here are 9 bots farming Mana Tombs on Pagle. Impossible to report via the lackluster in-game support avenues, so it gets to go here instead.

{Removed}

First, please remove the names and the image. Callouts are not allowed, even if you think they are botting.

Second, be sure to right-click report them as that’s the way to report players. The forums are not a contact point for GMs and is not a valid way to report.

Edit to add:

Select World of Warcraft from the dropdown and you’ll see instructions on the proper way to report players

Report them in game or you can email the information at Hacks@blizzard.com

Thanks, Shammikaze, but a public call out on the forums isn’t an appropriate means of reporting policy violations.

If you are unable to use the right click report option to report the individual characters you can also forward any information you have to our Hacks team by emailing hacks@blizzard.com.

I do want to mention that if you’ve noticed that a place has become a hub for illicit activity like this, so have the investigators on the Hacks team. That isn’t to dissuade you from reporting those that you suspect of botting/exploitation, but just to say that knowing about something isn’t the same as haven’t an answer to address it. The characters you usually see are often from compromised accounts, being used solely to exploit. If we remove one another replaces it quickly, so the overall goal is to have the most impact we can so that we can address the issue and not spend the lion’s share of time swatting at the individual flies, as it were.

Please continue to report those that you may find, the reports do help the overall investigation.

You might also see them for a while still in game for a day or two or more. You can bet blizzard will be watching to see where they are moving the gold too that they get and whom might be buying from them. So instead of getting the guy on the street they get a larger network and it takes them longer to rebuild.

And to be fair too, it could be a legit player. Not very likely with the names, but there is the potential that it is a legitimate multi-boxer, following the rules of everything and just bored farming the instance for their own gold. We don’t know who is behind the screen. A lot of people use multi-boxer and bot interchangeably when there is a difference between the two. Multi-boxing is allowed (albeit unsupported), botting is not.

This forum is a player helping player type forum and not Blizzard’s Customer Service forum. Thanks for sharing your situation with the other players. Players familiar with your situation/observation can suggest how you can report the potential “bots” but that is all we can do.
When I report possible bots I right click on their toon’s name and use the cheating option and write a brief description regarding their behaviors. I always try to interact with them first by waving or trying to send them a whisper, if Alliance. If they run over me and totally ignore me I report my suspicions. Good luck to you.

i hate to be that person, but i just want to point out that just because someone doesn’t respond to a whisper, doesn’t make them a bot. It’s fine to have suspicions but ultimately responding is not a requirement. I often ignore whispers from someone i don’t know

people could also speak a different language and not understand what is being asked.

If you suspect someone is cheating/botting then send the information to Hacks@blizzard.com with all the information they need to investigate.

Do not try to whisper them, If they answer you or not does not tell you anything. In fact I think some of the better bot programs will answer you.

If someone whispers me out of the blue accusing me of being a bot. I just respond with this:

“01001001 00100000 01100001 01101101 00100000 01101110 01101111 01110100 00100000 01100001 00100000 01100010 01101111 01110100”

Why? There is no rule that says someone has to respond to a whisper. Someone not replying to your whisper doesn’t mean they are botting. Someone replying to your whisper does not mean they aren’t botting.

I’m not sure why them ignoring you is an indication they may be bots. Either you think they are botting or they aren’t. The decision shouldn’t require any interaction from you.

I want to touch on the emotes and whispers as well.

I have a seperate guild chat window that shows nothing but gchat. It is quite often the active window. I don’t even notice the flashes of other windows with notifications half the time.

And I am 100% there. Not responding does not equate to a bot.

However, as has been mentioned if you suspect report anyway. I feel really safe Blizzard would rather receive 1000 false reports to catch one correct one. Every single time. Player apathy is beneficial to cheaters. so keep up the reporting.

This is literally the best thing I’ve seen in a long time. Excellent, and added to my bag of tricks for sure lol.
