Bots everywhere

Server: Turalon
There are about 25 alliance moonkin bots in Suramar (The Guilded Market) just spawn killing every instant spawn mob. There has been 5 hunters and a monk in Zuldazar for over a month, doing the same thing. I notice in about every zone that contains rapid spawning mobs there are tons of bots. Reporting them every day seems to do nothing.

okay

Are you reporting them?

Sorry, but bolts of lightning don’t drop from the sky banning these accounts instantly, Blizzard does quite a bit of background work looking into reports of botting.

Honestly, sounds like a multiboxer, which is not botting, and Blizzard has said they are fine with it, but they don’t support the play style.

Reporting them doesn’t make a bolt of lightning to come down and take them out. Blizzard likes to learn how bot works before breaking them in ban waves.

What you described sounds more like a multiboxer to me.

That said if you are concerned it is a legit bot, be sure to right click one of them and report them for cheating. You only need to get one of them. And you only need to do it once.

As the others have said it is not instant. Blizzard investigates thoroughly and tries to figure out how to break the program first and suspends in big waves.

Edit. Also Perls poor liver. Man oh man this was a good one.

I like how you and Tolna both reference a bolt of lightning, thats cute. And obviously, im just mentioning it here to get further attention to the problem.

There aren’t any GMs on the forums, nor are the forums a means of reporting possible botting

There are no Game Masters on these forums, you pretty much have to right click in-game and report any players that you believe are breaking the terms of service.

The CS department doesn’t handle botting issues or reports. Blizzard is quite aware that people exploit and bot, all you need to do is report the suspected player and move on. Let Blizzard deal with it.

It’s a common request seen here in CS - to see bots rapidly dealt with. Thus, the bolt of lightning

Keep reporting. We can’t ever 100% know if something is a bot, no matter how much we ‘suspect’, as we don’t have access to the behind-the-scenes info. The reports you provide give that info to Blizzard, however.

It can take a while for some bots to be actioned, once Blizzard breaks how they work. Other times, it’s quite possible it’s not a bot. Only thing you can do is report and move on. Last part is important. Some folks can get really hung up on trying to ‘prove’ something they really can’t prove. Let Blizzard handle it.

Indeed. Player reports are a critical first step in combating the scourge of bots. If after observing the characters in game (and using your best judgement), you suspect there may be botting going on, right-click report them as suggested in this thread.

If you feel that a screenshot or video might be helpful inillustrating your observations, you can send them to hacks@blizzard.com . But keep in mind that they are not considered as “evidence”, only as an aid for Blizzard to review their internal data. The right-click report sends a lot of data, so that is always best.

Be patient. If they are botting, they will get caught and they will get their account actioned. If they are not botting, they will never even know they’ve been reported.

Videos and screenshots can easily be edited. Just report and move on to other activities within the game. Let Blizzard’s in-game logs sort it out.

Yes
which is why I clearly noted that these are not used as evidence. But they can be helpful to point the investigators in the right direction. Blizzard’s internal logs will be the determining factor in any account action against a suspected botting multiboxer (or any botter for that matter).

Names and realms are all that are required. That e-mail is mainly used if the normal report method cannot be utilized and, in some occasions, reporting potential software/future methods of hacking the game.

I’ve been told by a Blizzard rep that it is also the email to send videos or screenshots of suspected cheating, botting, hacking, etc.

edit to clarify:

Which, to be clear, are used as reference points for our investigations and not the basis of any action that may be taken against an account.
