Giving both healers rating points that equate to 1-0 at the beginning of a match would fix multiple solutions.
A) It would naturally buff healer MMR. And it wouldn’t be an insane buff either. It would likely bring up healers to where DPS are in terms of MMR distribution.
B) It would fix the 3-3 problem. When there is a bad apple DPS, all the other DPS go 4-2 and the healers unfortunately go 3-3 which has been a huge sore point for many healers. With this fix both healers would at least be certain they are leaving with 4 wins in those scenarios.
C) This can be sold as healer compensation points for joining due to the healer shortage. So when you check the score screen at the beginning of a shuffle you would see both healers starting with anywhere from 5-20 points depending on their mmr. If a healer goes 5-1 they would actually be getting the same amount of points as a 6-0 win and the enemy healer would be getting a 2-4 loss in terms of points. I don’t think DPS would mind that healers started with X amount of rating points either if it meant shorter queue times.

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say lots of DPS are gonna not be in favor of this, but I think it’s a cool idea thinking outside the box

I quit solo shuffle after going 5-0 in multiple shuffles just to have a random DPS be like “well you should lose at least 1” and then go off to die. Such a stupid game mode, no control over the people you’re with and it’s impossible to report such behavior.
Also incredibly tilting going 4 or 5-0 just for someone to quit and you get no points. Solo mode is horrible.

It makes no sense to even suggest this. Healers have instant queue buddy instant queue instant queue they can literally spam queue rss compared to the 15-30min queue time for dps.
So performing better than the other healer is tilting? Oh lawd

Unfortunately the reason rated is dying is the reason these reasonable ideas wont happen.
Namely the people who still play who are against any change in the game… even though refusing to change how things work is the reason people have been dropping out for 10 years consistently.

Suggesting the healer ladder be injected with infinite rating is reasonable? OP’s idea is literally “count 3-3 as a win for healers” in a different form, and would fundamentally undermine the competitive integrity of the healer ladder.

I think giving them one win automatically isn’t a really good idea.
Generate incentive uncoupled from mmr. The feeling of playing hard to gain literally nothing is the pressure point, not all these other symptoms

I’ve had 40 minute ques this season as healer. The amount of times you fight lower healers go 5-1 lose mmr and gain 0 cr is crazy. Granted this is really only a high cr issue tho still really annoying
