So now I’m worried it seems that the stories are true, that tickets are being handled by bots/AI now?
Had two tickets, had one in appealing a name suspension on day one of a three day suspension, but learned my lesson and in that ticket I tried to self report any characters I had with bad names. Ticket doesn’t get answered until day 6, but lo and behold all of the follow-up comments in it of me trying to self report names like I was told I could do in this forum were ignored. I was given a copy past response directing me to the link about Code of conduct and naming. The ticket gets locked and asks for a review. Which I’m sure you all can guess how that review went.
I thought okay maybe just the same people don’t handle the same issue, so I looked up how I was actually supposed to self report since there wasn’t strictly an option for that in the ticket menu. Found out it was supposed to be done as an Appeal name change ticket.
So I put in an Appeal name change ticket, clearly list my character and pet names with the server name saying I’m self reporting and asking to get to re-name them.
5 days later I get the same exact copy paste response saying "This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies ( https://blizzard.com/support/article/42673 ), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. These policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players.
Thing is, no action was taken, AT ALL… The ticket gets locked and asks for a review. I log in to game real quick to see if I can rename my characters. Absolutely nothing. All the names and pet names still their. Even the player that it had me select when making the ticket still has the same name. What in the actual world am I supposed to do if real people aren’t reading these tickets any more?
If you got recently penalised they may tend to skip to answering you with the standard penalty upheld message if your case has been reviewed already while you want something else in this case, that of self reporting your other potentially offensive names before they get taken out.
Edit: Blizzard response below that all 13 (!) has been flagged for rename.
Unfortunately, like Forumcat mentioned, due to your recent sanction, it may be misread somehow and your attempts to self-report were lost as another appeal of that original sanction because of the ticket path you used.
Elaborate that THIS IS NOT AN APPEAL. That you were advised to self-report inappropriate names on the account and that is what you’re trying to do. You may get a TEMPLATED response at first - not AI, but a template a real person sends out. If that happens, just hit the button that will be there to the tune of “I still need help”, and it will kick it up for a GM to review it properly.
That isn’t AI, none of it is. Templated responses are sent out by real live people. At high ticket times, AUTOMATED warnings may go out about ticket times being high, but that is a special situation thing.
So you don’t have to go through this again - 13 were actually flagged for a rename - and 2 pets.
At least those, you shouldn’t need worry about going forward as long as an appropriate name is chosen. Granted some are very old - one has never even been logged in, so you may not remember them.
Don’t know if it was this ticket that I put in at the link you provided, or the appeal account action mentioning the two other tickets that did it, but someone just now did the name changes. Really don’t get why it wasn’t done with either of the first two tickets though.
Now, still be mindful if something does come up that is dicey (nothing is perfect, but this is a good starting off point ) to just skip those to avoid any issues.
Awesome thank you very much. I’m not sure about 13 of them haha? I think I only have 7 characters and the 2 pets, but either way thank you for the help!
