If there isn’t demand for thousands of Runecloth at 9g each then the price will naturally fall back to 15s given time. Runecloth isn’t a limited resource, anyone can go and farm it and list it for any price they choose. You may not like it but market manipulators are part of a free market precisely because it is free.
No, then the market is not free, it’s being controlled.
And manipulating commodities, pump and dumps, insider trading, all illegal. Well unless you’re a member of congress.
Um Blizzard has stated the market is an open, to all, free market.
Telling someone “you are not allowed to do X” is controlling the market.
No, that’s just what oligarchs tell themselves to justify putting the market in chains to serve them. The biggest coupe in the last 50 years is they’ve managed to get a lot of people to believe it as well.
The “Free Market” means the market is free from interference, not that oligarchs are free to control it as they see fit. Monopolist fixing prices, communist setting prices, same thing. The market isn’t free, it’s being controlled. The only difference is the story they tell themselves to justify the damage they’ll do.
And telling someone “you are not allowed to do X” is interfering in the market, aka controlling it.
Just farm it yourself. run a few dungens and bam. you got stacks
So what I’m getting at is I can finally sell those old mats I was holding onto and actually get something from them on the AH. Nice.
good lord… This a video game…
I also noticed that while I was gone, the AH now hides who the seller is.
Why is that?
Generally it doesn’t, but you may need to look for a tooltip/rollover.
it used to be prominently displayed.
It also used to be that once you posted you could not cancel.
You probably have other things to catch up on also. Have fun!
I am asking why it was changed. What is the benefit, and whom does it benefit?
They needed the space in the UI for something else?
I guess some people really farm anything.
Ok but it’s classic mats… go like… do 1 conscration every 30 seconds in plaguelands or strathomle solo a couple times…?
It’s weird how whenever prices move around rapidly due to a change in market (like … a new expansion!), the forums are filled with “BOTS AND ADDONS ARE DESTROYING THE MARKET” and I’m just like “Oh look the price is changing.”
You know the reason prices are changing? Because market conditions are changing.
The commodities market (which includes reagents), in particular, is region-wide, and too large to manipulate effectively. It’s also very efficient (in the economic sense) and seems to seek a reasonable price almost instantly.
Another one of your shirtmakers passed out from the heat.
You might want to open a window for them.
You mean bots. Bots running dungeons 24/7 and dumping on the AH sure.
You do not need to be a bot to buy 1000 stacks of 5 silver mats and put it back up for 9 gold. Anyone with cash can do that. It may be a good time to buy elsewhere then undercut them.
