Boosts in TBC Classic A Disgrace

There’s always Avatar: the Last Airbender (and sequel series The Legend of Korra) as the “not-anime” gateway show

As mentioned previously, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is good. My Hero Academia I’m not personally into myself, but it is insanely popular, as an outsider looking in I’d call it “anime X-Men”. One Punch Man is also great for an action series that just takes the piss out of the superhero genre and is a lot of good fun

KonoSuba is a personal favorite isekai, it takes a more comical approach to the genre and is really good for a laugh. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a fun one too

For something a bit more down to earth (…sort of) that is currently in the headlines with a coming second season, Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. It’s a slice of life following the story of a dragon who becomes the maid of an average desk worker woman, though it is a little bit steeped in Japanese culture so some of it may fly over your head. Also has a bit of controversy over certain characters and scenes that I won’t get into here…but the series as a whole is very cute and lighthearted and absolutely worth a watch if you just want some warm fuzzies

I’m not sure about that. I heard about it during school, and there were girls reading it. So I don’t think it was super niche.

Haku was among those who introduced me to gender bending. Now, it’s actually a plot device/feature I like.

There’s more that are for kids, and for adults of varying tastes. Cowboy Bebop, for example, isn’t aimed at teens.

girls reading it? are you saying girls tend to like specific anime that boys don’t?

(not a sexist question. the only people who i’m friends with that like anime at all are female. as is my sister, obviously. lol)

Fruits Basket is a shoujo, which is a manga aimed at young (teen) girls, like Naruto is a shounen, aimed at young (teen) boys. Both genders absolutely like what is, “intended” for the other, it’s just that’s the target audience and tends to have different tropes.

ah okay. i don’t know enough about anime to know that there was some aimed at boys vs girls.

edit: i was just informed that anime and manga are two different things. -.-

Tl;dr:

Anime = Cartoon

Manga = Comic

i think i would be more interested in manga than anime then. (am i the only one who initially types “anima” and then corrects it. psh retail things)

Certainly an enjoyable avenue, pay no mind to my hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars worth of manga currently in storage ahaha

Just bear in mind most manga is read from right to left!

there’s this thing for kindle you can buy that lets you read comics etc. i wonder if any of those things you guys have talked about are on it. i have a large kindle, wouldn’t be reading on my phone. wife wanted to try it out. didn’t like the options. but i should check it out.

Worth a shot, I’m not familiar with Kindle myself but they could be there

this is the thing i’m talking about

https: //www .comixology .com/

if you love to read a kindle can be had for as low as like $50. there’s tons of good free stuff. and lots of things go on sale all the time so even if it’s normally expensive you can get them for cheap.

Jujutsu Kaisen is best anime out atm.

I respectfully disagree, I’m quite partial to Reincarnated as a Slime. Among my favourite isekai manga, and that remains the same in anime form. Season 2’s ED theme is just a banger too.

if i look up manga on wiki will it explain me what you guys are talking about with what the different mangas are?

I’ll be boosting a character. Don’t care what y’all think or have to say about it. My reasons for doing so are just that, mine.

My guild has a few dozen players that are going to as well. See ya at the dark portal with my welfare 58! :kissing_heart:

S2 of slime is so slow and boring.

Also reincarnated as a spider is better.

Agreed. Boost has no place in TBC or Vanilla. If they recognize that it shouldn’t be in Vanilla, why is it in TBC? Totally counterintuitive.

The more I grind to get my character to 60 before TBC, the more I’m starting to not like the idea of boosts

There’s nothing specifically about them that I think will “damage” the game, but the idea just cheapens it in a way.

Just my opinion but I think that’s part of what’s wrong with retail. It just feels cheaper than classic for some reason :thinking:
