Boosts have made this game feel like a complete waste of time for me… I can’t get into a dungeon because it’s easier to have a high level run you through it. This is not a slight against people using boosts. I hope there is something in the works to fix this. Maybe people find the gameplay from 1-60 worthless?
Bingo, we’ve had 2 years of classic dungeons/leveling, people don’t want to do it anymore.
Plus there’s just not as many people leveling overall. During prepatch I found dungeons with ease because people were leveling.
Well, this game is depressing lol. In ActiBlizzard’s defense, they’ve only had 20 years and billions of dollars to make it better… You could see why our $15 dollars a month hasn’t encouraged change.
I mean, what do you expect them to do? Force people to level new characters?
Even if they banned boosting and wiped it out completely, you still wouldn’t find dungeons because there’s just not enough of a variety of people leveling. Most of the time I just see pure dps.
Only thing they really could do is add LFD, and that’s something that’s hotly debated.
As I said, this wasn’t about the people using the boosts. It’s about the causes resulting in people using the boosts.
Using, not using, having, not having, it’s all the same in the end.
If I couldn’t have boosted myself through dungeons I just wouldn’t have leveled. You’ll probably find without boosts is no different in leveling dungeons than with them.
Boosts have nothing to do with this lol. Even without the boost, players would get a high level to run them through dungeons either way. Old world dungeons are not fun nor rewarding for the time spent in them. Xp is crap, travel time is forever, and the wipes, all just too time consuming.
Boosts help the game significantly. Without it, people wouldn’t have alts that they need to attune/gear up. The LFG channel would be dead.
Right… As I’ve said… the boosts are a symptom of something that is lacking. I guess I should have just posted - “This game needs new content.” Also, I said my comments were not against those using boosts. I get why people use them.
The answer to a lot of these complaints can be found in retail. Just shard low pop servers together and put in the retail lfg system.
Man, I’d love to see the drama from that.
BTW, it’s CRZ not sharding sharding is like zone specific layering, but doesn’t enable cross server.
Yea I figured I had that combobulated. Either way classic is just following retails path just at an accelerated rate. In retail I was on a high pop server through cata but they opened transfers off and it crashed to low pop.
Easy way to get players back to them would be to add something new to those level ranges that have perks built in that could be aesthetic or rewarding in other ways? Make them only drop at level appropriate range. This would promote building level 1 alts to go back and farm for things that could be shared with a main?
Here is a thought, you could remove the boost but add in CRZ and LFG systems as well as the heirloom gear.
Between these 3 systems, players would care less about losing the boost and would encourage more 1-60 leveling.
Idk why people think blizz is going to put in any new effort. I’m impressed we got the chronoboom but it took all of classic. The one or 2 devs working on this are not even able to fix a couple bugs. No way they are touching “old” content. Especially with the lawsuits
Oh totally correct man. I’m just wishful thinking to the max!
a lot of people have leveled a lot of characters from 1-60 in 4 days played time or in 9 days played time. A lot of these people already have 5-10 level 60 characters before TBC even came out. Leveling your 11th character “without boosting it” sounds like a bad idea to be honest. Unless you just enjoy doing 3,000 quests on your 16th character.
Dungeons really have no use in this game after phase 1. Once you get your badge gear and attunements done there is zero reason to go back and do heroic dungeons at all (that I can think of anyway).
I still see normal dungeons being run on alts but people are about done with allts too since the dailies grind will soon be upon us.
Has nothing to do with boosts. It was the same way in OG TBC. It’s the same way in every MMO in fact. 2 years after content drops it tends to be less populated. That shouldnt exactly be a surprise…
There is badge gear released in later phases that costs almost 100/piece. Rep is also needed for several professions. It’s also not a bad way to farm if you’re DEing the blues into shards.
I had forgotten about the later badge gear.
