Either both should be disallowed or neither. Once you’re 70, gear becomes the new leveling process. Players sitting back and letting others carry them through is no different in a raid or dungeon.
My assumption is the dungeon change was more of a business one and less so to manage the player base. They want to sell Blizzard boosts. The GDKP issue doesn’t hurt the bottom line, and hey, maybe they’ll even try to capitalize off that with tokens.

If GDKP was run with gold purely generated by players, with in-game means, this would be one thing. But since players can be (and seemingly are) willing to open their wallets and purchase gold to pay their way to progression, it’s something entirely different.
Even boosting itself isn’t necessarily bad, I’ve certainly helped friends get through some dungeons they are having trouble with a time or two. It’s when it becomes systemically monetized that it’s become a problem.
So Boosting and GDKP have become the same… yet another monetized activity in World of Warcraft. But the roost cause is we, the players, who support this by swiping our cards to buy gold (token or otherwise) so we can pay each other to play a game in a spare time.
It makes no sense, but there it is…

Ban boosting ban gdkps all you want. What you guys are doing is setting up blizzard to monetized wow even more. I’m calling it now watch them lift paid boosting services 1 per account.
It is the same thing. GDKP is boosting characters power level instead of XP for gold. GDKPs should be banned like boosting was.
GDKPs are an even larger source of RMT in classic WOW.

I don’t like apples, and I don’t like oranges. Ipso facto, apples are oranges because I dont like both of them.

They had lots of money in Germany after WWII also. It took entire wheel barrows of it to buy a loaf of bread through…
I think you will experience a similar outcome on your server…
Is your gold really worth as much as you think…

When you can bring over 5k gold KEKW
You are bad at threats…

LOL that didn’t even take 5 seconds
LOLLLLL
HE responded to me so fast. LOL gottem.
Enjoy your TBC server with trash economy mate…
Haste potions are 7g/ea…
Raid consumables will be cheaper in wotlk.
Game economies are a meme…
Fresh servers wont be any different, the prices will reflect the amount of gold on your server and how much gold the average player makes per hour…
Haste potions might be 2g on your server but that would be equal to 7g on my server…you’re living a pipedream if you don’t understand that.
The issue is prices will shoot up fast because the average gold per day people can make from dailies and stuff.
It all stays the same.

Only one seething is the CK boys after they lost some of their RMT income.
GDKP’s are driving greater gold buying/selling in the game than boosting was. Blizzard stated they wanted to remove boosting because of the RMT connection, but at same time didn’t say anything about GDKP’s. Clearly, there is significant cognitive dissonance going on here.
GDKP’s are going to be even more of a problem in wrath with insane values of gold being bought/sold. Players now ignore joining guilds and just do GDKP’s, and pay to get everything. You can’t play an honest game and get any where. You’re always behind.
