Boosting communities

Can Blizzard just ban them all already? Gallywix is gone, Huokan pops up and who knows, I put that name on my BadBoy addon, than Starlight, now Spartan. What’s next? For me I just blocked the word boosting there is so much spam going on.

The harlots just find a new bordello when one is shut down. Boosters convinced enough idiots that RIO matters so the monkeys keep buying them because “it matters”.

What’s worse than the boosting salespeople is the people that actually buy the boosts… I don’t understand the point of that. This is a game.

There is nothing wrong with people selling carries. Its fully within the games rules.

Blizzard will only go after those who then sell the gold for IRL cash. For the cash part and not the boosting part.

Well i guess the developers are very proud. Proud that the content they develop and get paid for has generated such a large market of people willing to pay to afk skip it. Has this game has gotten better for it? It is so ridiculous and the folks that defend it are just speeding up the descent.

If I’m bored and want to sell someone a boost for 10k gold, I have the right to. Just because you hate it, doesn’t mean it should be banned.

I hate LFR. Personally, I think it should be deleted but just like a previous thread I started about it, LFR serves a purpose for those who use it. If you don’t like boosting, no one is forcing you to participate in it and Blizzard has given you the tools to remove it from your view.

When you have 15 max level toons and extra income/gold … buying a boost saves a lot of headache.

You’ve already stated you utilize a solution to the problem through your addon. Unless there’s a limit to how many words you can block, then I don’t see what your problem is outside of just wanting to complain?

I agree with Raicolette, I think lfr is an abomination and it should be deleted, I’m sure plenty of the player base would quit and I wouldn’t care if it did happen.

The only time people should get banned is if they’re botting or RMT as far as I’m concerned and that’s exactly why Gallywix got banned, and I heard that huokan got temp banned but they were unsuspended probably due to lack of evidence and it was just mass reporting by uninformed people that don’t know any better.

Nothing wrong with buying and selling carries for gold.

I think it is corrupt gameplay as it debases the ideals of the game and disrespects the other players.

Just because you are allowed to do something doesn’t mean you should.

I think you’re far too concerned about what others are doing.

people have been buying/selling carries since vanilla. While I recognize that m+ has increased the amount, because it’s now a trivial matter for any half-geared person to grab three friends and sell carries, it’s still not a problem.

The loot changes in shadowlands might have an impact on the volume. we’ll see.

Maybe if blizzard didnt set such high daily play metrics of near mandatory bull, and limited catchup for alts (seriously I have multiple 470+s with rank 15 cloaks pain in butt) then boosting wouldn’t be nearly as much as a problem. But blizzard loves it though they get go sell tokens.

It’s the bad players that create a demand and therefore a supplier in turn. Carries have existed since what Annastasi has said since the inception of wow being an mmo. Most bad players buy carries because they’re just that, they’re bad. Others buy carries for alts or just because they have gold, others buy carries because they’re lazy. It doesn’t hurt the game as far as I’m concerned because it allows people to spend real money on wow tokens to purchase something they wouldn’t otherwise acquire.

The reason I don’t think this hurts the game is because if an lfr player gets a full mythic set of armor it’s pretty obvious that they purchased it, via raiderio/wowprog/warcraftlogs, heck they’d probably die multiple times at the start of every mythic fight even if they got in and removed. I don’t see how someone having gear or a mount that can afford hundreds of thousands if not millions of gold affects you.

Selling carries is fine. These pyramid scheme communities need to go though.

Honestly I just had to put a couple of key entries into badboy and most of the spam in my chat channels is gone… There are a few that slip through from time to time.

how else are talent-less whales going to buy ilvl to flaunt over the “peasants”?

An LFR player wouldn’t even try to get into that content.
If they wanted to they would have done it in the first place instead of sticking to LFR.

Don’t think you understood what I said

you were saying that it would be obvious if someone who bought gear via boosting because of their rio and logs and stuff.
I’m just saying no one would ever need to check them because the type of player who would boost, would be the type of player to never enter content where people check

Isn’t the boosting community in direct conflict with RIO? I mean, boosting completely subverts RIO’s efficacy. Talking with people who run adverts for a boosting group, I’ve learned that a lot of their customers simply want limited time items, like the raid mount, or 5 mask run.
