Boosters and boost buyers

Can we have yall do “/join boost” so we can actually see messages in LFG and Trade? You get your own channel and we get our channels back. Everybody wins!

Get an addon called Stopboostspam

Technically, Boosting is a service. Services are supposed to be placed in Trade.

Blizzard already said their boost spam isn’t allowed in LFG/Trade/General. So just report them. Helps cut down on gold sellers too. Double win.

Can we give gdkps their own group as well. Sunwell mage farm spam gets a little nuts.

Not really. These people spam the official channels because they know new players / lowlevel alts are able to read it and get customers instantly.

Just report them as well. They’re not supposed to be using channels for boosting/GDKP spam.

Not true. Love when people make stuff up esp when there is blue posts outright showing it as not true. That is found with a simple google search of “boost spam in lfm” as the top result or similar.

The correct statement is in retail it is not permitted to advertise for sale with gold or otherwise within the lfm tool. In fact the vary same post listed lfg, general (via realm specific options) and trade (directly mentioned) as acceptable places to advertise for sale services ie boost spam.

This came with the abilty to report for “advertising” within the lfm tool reporting options you will notice this is not a option for report reason in any of the mentioned channels.

That being said spam has never been allowed so is there advertisement seams “spammy” do report them for spam.

Also would advise not following cows advice and reporting them just for advertising in those channels if not spam as that is a false report and false reports thou rare can be actioned as abuse of the system.

Go read Brian Burmingham’s Twitter and things he’s said in previous interviews regarding boost adverts

They’re likely selling gold too. So it’s just good policy to report their suspect behavior. Can never be too safe when defending the integrity and spirit of Classic.

For Ref:

“It’s worth noting that the policy against advertising boosts in the Looking for Group channel applies to Classic as well as to modern WoW.”

Yes the policy states you can’t advertise boosting services that you’re selling for gold in the LFG channel it’s suppose to be in the trade channel.

This is why he brings up the policy.

You said something different and you said they couldn’t do it in trade which they clearly can as is written in the policy.

That line only applies to lfg channel not trade which was directly mentioned by you as one of the areas not allowed nothing there shows that. While a more recent post than the one I linked still dose not backup your claim of your not allowed to use in general and trade that you claimed. It dose support not doing so in trade if taken at face value, which also I pulled up that policy he references which is specifically targeted at large boost selling “organization” that spam multi realms. It has no effect on guilds, individuals or single server community’s. There is no document I can find that lists individuals or guides as unable to do which your post claims as you told people here to just report them which means to report all not just those from large organizations. Which quite a significant amount of boost sellers do not meet the definition as it’s profitable so quite a few players sell boosts.

Get BadBoy addon, and your desired plug-ins, you’ll be set.

You said this, this is wrong.

This is what people called you out on.

get the bulletin board add-on bam problem solved

Likely wont happen

I don’t mind, as no1 actually uses trade chat to find groups.
We all have to use Buletin Board addon (says a lot about the game if we have use addons to play it…i wonder if there was a solution that was invented 20 years ago…)

Anyway, Bulletin Addon has settings menu where you can untrack dungeons/raids you don’t care about.

On this paladin, I have everything disabled except for a few easy heroics, T4/T5 raids. All 60-70 normals are blocked off, all pre-TBC are also blocked off. So my BB is actually pretty clean.

I also don’t see any SWP mage boost spams.
