hello im fairly new to posting on the forums but ive seen alot of hate revolving around the 58 level charecter boost and my question is why? (want legit answers not people telling me to go back to retail) i just dont understand the hate. i feel like alot of the elitests feel like only new players are boosting? when thats not the case for some, i have been playing WoW off and on for over 10 years have had multiple max levels on different servers/factions why would i want to level and do the same stuff AGIAN. ive also seen alot of people saying they are going to gank and stop players from leveling on pvp realms wich just sounds gross considering you dont know the skill level of the person who “boosted” you could try and gank somone like me who decided to boost another charecter with their main class and get ur as handed to you if you try that also the /spit is to much imo and for everyone saying “im not inviting boosters into my group” goodluck trying to find out who is a booster and who is not after tbc releases its not that hard to lie and say “no i didnt boost” sorry if this is kinda all over the place im just trying to understand it lol
the classic community has become very toxic. try to just ignore them. everyone is looking for something to hate on in classic.
most of the people who are die hard raiders/parser hardcores actually dont have any real player skill and hide behind world buffs and warcraft logs
I think the argument is that boosters will not know how to play their class since they didn’t have to level it.
The reality is that classes in TBC are incredibly easy – most only boast a 3 button rotation at most. So that aforementioned argument seems a bit irrational.
We could speculate what people’s real reason for hating boosters comes from, but at the end of the day, its your money and no one will be able to tell that you boosted. Just do whatever you want.
U do you man. in 1-2 weeks people won’t be able to tell the difference.
could be something with the pay to win format is very disliked, I know boosting isn’t quite pay to win, but its somewhat close to it. Personally I think all the hate is from mages loosing business from the payed boosts. Anyway let them hate, your money , your choice to do what you want with it .xD
Essentially, people believe that boosting will contribute to the over monetization of the game they’ve spent a decade asking for. It’s not you personally (well, maybe a little), it’s more that your character represents this version possibly having all the retail cash shop BS.
Legit 90% of the people complaining about the boost service would’ve used it by the end of 2021
well, you see, booster hate comes from the same people who use racism to combat racism, or call those who support freedom fascists while telling those people what they can and cant say. They are small pp and its just something we have to live with, ignoring them is the best thing because they basically throw a tantrum in a vacuum much like in real life
Homie I don’t care as long as you pull your weight in a dungeon or whatever. It’s more of a pride issue amongst players, and tbh really not any of their business how you got to 60. It’s just the with the boost botters can literally multiply gold farming by at least 86 times the rate.
Which can hurt the economy and inflate things sky high. Just have fun my dude and do you. It has nothing to do with normal players buying boosts.
60% of all percentage estimates are made up on the spot without any proof… 60% of the time all the time
If your refering to the post I just made. Go watch madseasoncow’s video on it.
The forums are toxic. They always have been. I just boosted my druid and I’ve been leveling up herbalism. 58 in booster gear and I’ve been getting guild invites while farming. Almost no one cares in game
The only hate is in the forums so sleep easy
Made up statistics are 64% more believable if they’re not multiples of 10
No ty I really do not care what some random youtuber has to say about the game, given that his only reference is apparently his subscriber count. Might as well ask some random kid ingame for his take on the situash
I hate boosts. But only activision has the power to do anything about it. They’ve made it clear they are pro boost. Directing anger at players is ridiculous. Anger should only be directed at activision.
I can give you an anecdote that may serve as a microcosm as to why people feel the way they do. Whether or not its legitimate is subjective. My guild recruited a guy who was a boosted 58 warrior and he kept talking about how he was gonna be main tanking TBC on it. So our gm who’s a hunter, myself a feral druid, a resto shaman and one of our mages went into strat UD. He died on the first pack from body pills, not knowing his abilities, and couldn’t hold threat against auto attacks. He shouted at the healer, and when I asked if he got a bow when he boosted so he could pull from range and to try corner pulling he had no idea what I was talking about.
That’s one anecdote. Here’s another.
I tanked an LBRS for some friends who were leveling hunter pets and we picked up a boosted shaman to heal since I’m in almost full bis on my bear we didnt care. He did amazing. Correct totems down before having to be asked, managed mana well, dpsed when I wasnt taking damage. Fast forward to a few days later and hes now in our guild on that shaman and I’m excited to play with him.
Which do you think happens more often? And which one do you think stands out to the player base more?
If you truly want to understand how Pay to Win, Pay to Skip, Pay to Progress, whatever you want to call it, damages the fundamental core of what a Multiplayer Role Playing Game is;
Watch Madseason’s “The Ballad of the Level Boost” on YouTube.
From what I can gather, the leveling process is the point of the game that you rob yourself of, a chore that you unfairly skip while other people had to go through it, and a sense of accomplishment that you lose out on all simultaneously by boosting
Or something like that
I believe the issue most of us have though I speak mainly for myself is what it does to the health of the old world. No dev team creates a world they want to become obsolete. Maybe not as relevant as it was back in the day, but ultimately they want some relevance. The health of the game stays strong with lower levels filling the world for group questing, and keeping dungeon groups running rampant. A healthy foundation for a game is built on this principle. Boosting takes that way entirely. This isn’t like Cata where you had 4 expansions to traverse. It’s the base game, and with the exp nerfs such a concept was just heavy handed.
Personally I don’t hate boosters whether in game or through Blizzard. However I believe this is 100% counterintuitive to the “authentic” experience people claim to be coming back for. Though I don’t like the precedent it is setting. People got one boost, and sure enough we get threads wanting infinite boosts. And in those threads we have players encouraging others to purchasing separate accounts to give them more boosts.
Where will it lead? Where and when will it end?
