Didn’t say they were, I said they could. Complaining about something that was relevent in the game over 8 years ago isn’t something that would be considered game breaking by most of the player base. I would say that most people that boost a character don’t go through the long arduous process to do the Class Hall content.
I’m pointing out why a company has rules around what is and isn’t refundable. You said you got ripped off, you didn’t, you got exactly what you paid for. I’m sorry that something from 8 years ago isn’t working for you, but that doesn’t mean you didn’t get what the boost advertised.
Throwing money around doesn’t mean you have infinite resources. Would your rather they fix bugs from 8 years ago that no one cares about anymore, or would you rather they use those resources to fix bugs that actually effect what players are actually playing?
I have contributed solutions, I am explaining to you why what you are wanting might not get fixed exactly when you want it, and why Blizzard is unlikely to give you a refund. You might not like that, but I don’t post here for you to like me. You posted questions and I gave you answers. Not liking the answers doesn’t mean I can’t engage in a thread or post where I want.
No, unfortunately, that’s not how bug reports work. Bug reports let the dev team know that there’s an issue. But you don’t get an individual response to a bug report. Once they fix it, then adjustments can be made. In your case it would probably be automatic - once they fix it, you’ll be able to pick up the quest. In other cases, the devs go through and correct things, or give the GMs permission and tools to fix things. If they haven’t done that, then almost certainly nobody will be able to fix it for you. You just have to wait on the devs, as frustrating as that is.
You can put in a ticket and request a refund. I don’t think it’s likely since you used the boost, and I believe if they are able to do it at all, it would lock that character until another boost is applied to it. But you could explain the reason and ask. As for unlocking the class hall, see above - you really just have to wait on the devs to fix it.
I had read from other users that GMs responding to tickets just told them to make a forum post which is why I had skipped this step. I think I will try submitting a ticket though. I wouldn’t even mind if they lock the character because I would just delete it, remake it and unlock the class hall and then apply a new boost. Thanks for the suggestion.
I didn’t say that at all, I said that you are demanding that Blizzard fix it and claiming that not fixing it in your timeline or refunding you is them failing. I’m explaining to you why they don’t do that.
I didn’t tell you to sit down and shut up, don’t put words into my mouth. I explained why what you are asking is more than likely not going to happen in the time frame you want it to because of how bugs in games like this work. I also explained why a refund more than likely wouldn’t be granted.
If you don’t want people to post on a thread that you made don’t post the thread. I will continue to post where and when I like, I have posted facts and haven’t broken any rules. You don’t have the ability to tell me I don’t get to post.
Did I say you did? No. I don’t see any problem with your posts, where did you get that? I told you why what you are asking for isn’t as game breaking as you think it is. I get that it is a problem for you, but again Blizzard has to cater to the majority of players.
Does that mean the bug will not be fixed at all? No. However you really should not be banking on it getting fixed. That is just the unfortunate reality of a live service game like this, sometimes the resources to fix things like this simply aren’t there.
And what they mean is usually to post in the bug report forum. As I said, I think they probably will say no, and if they do, they’ll probably make that same suggestion. They do have certain situations where they are allowed to make exceptions to the refund policy. Since I don’t work there, I can’t know if this is one; it just feels like the kind of thing that maybe could be in that category.
Either way, it’s still a good idea to submit a bug report, either in the bug report forum or using the in-game bug submission. That lets them know how widespread the problem is and may give them additional data that helps with fixing it.
No. Outside of Forum Moderation, which responds to reports to check for Code of Conduct violations, the only other staff that monitors that forum are members of QA. They only collect reports/data, they would be unable to assist directly outside of working to find a resolution to be implemented as a hotfix or patch.
Generally not, no. The changes to the character from a boost are permanent. Any fixes usually need to come from the overall resolution being implemented to resolve the issue.
Data collection doesn’t work like that. As I said, QA is already aware of the issue. I recommended posting over there, or posting in a recent thread because that will allow them to collect your specific information and get a sense of volume of how many people are being impacted by the issue.
The recommendation to post on the forums is for two reasons.
You believe you are experiencing a bug, which should be reported on the Bug Report forum.
You would like to provide feedback / suggestions about the game and related services. Those should be posted in the relevant forum (i.e. Profession feedback in the Profession forum, quest feedback in the Quest forum, etc…), General Discussion being the default category for those items that don’t fit in their own subcategory.
I’m afraid that will not help in this situation. A Game Master cannot assist in this case.
I am very sorry for the frustration this has caused. Hopefully our QA and Dev teams can find and implement a resolution so that those in this situation can do that content.
