Boosted 110 toon how to get to Broken Isles? I have a 110 toon (Alliance) boosted as part of upgrade to BFA. I can’t work out how to get to Broken Isles. The toon has no Dalaran hearthstone, cannot get the Legion starting quests and cannot see any portal in Stormwind Keep. Other 110 toons of mine can get to new Dalaran. Any ideas?
To start Legion, check with the NPC in Stormwind Harbor for Alliance or just outside of Orgrimmar for Horde. Make sure to be tracking “Trivial Quests”.
Thanks for the info. I have worked out how to get to Broken Isles - there is a portal to Azsuna in Stormwind which I hadn’t noticed previously. That works for the boosted toon and he can now get to the Broken Isles Dalaran via the portal and a flight path from Illidari Stand. I would like to get a Dalaran hearthstone, so I’ll now search for how to do that. (As advised to me by customer service I can’t re-do the Legion starting quests so I can’t see Recruiter Lee at Stormwind Harbor.)
…
As per advice on forums, asked an innkeeper in Dalaran and got a new Dalaran hearthstone. Happy now. Sorry this wasn’t really a customer support issue, but anyway, problem solved.
Don’t worry, they didn’t tell us ANYTHING about the boost before doing it. I just got back to playing WoW after 5 years and this boost stuff is making me rethink my decision. I have been running Ulduar dungeons to make Frostweave bags for new alts and then I did the boost. NOWHERE in the purchase and use process does it warn that you can’t run instances for 1 or 2 days (or more for older content)! This is the kind of stuff that made me leave the last time.
And yes, it needs to be my main as he is my only enchanter (disenchant the greens for dust).
Says it right here…
Boosted characters cannot enter dungeons and raids from previous expansions for the first 24 hours.
I am sorry for the frustration that may have been caused, Billspaladin. We try to provide what warning we can, but it is possible to miss it. For reference, the product page on our Shop lists some of the restrictions, including that one.
As does the Support Article that Thundertotem linked.
The restriction is for 24 hours from when you logged the character in after the boost was applied.
Yes, it does say it, in article one hundred, thirty seven thousand, three hundred and eighty one. I spelled it out to show how ridiculous it is to think people read the other 137380 articles (or really any of them) to reach that one before buying the Battle for Azeroth (which I purchased primarily for the boost as I do not plan to play the newer content any time soon).
You go directly to the page that explains how the boost works. You don’t read 137380 other articles. It’s not hidden.
That isn’t generally how the support articles work, Billsmage. If you have a question you enter it into the search option. If there are support articles on the subject they are provided so that you can review them.
I just logged in to my son’s account (which has not yet purchased the expansion and probably won’t) and sure enough, when you are buying the expansion there is no mention, no link, no way at all to know that the boost has such limitations without searching for it. This is what I said in my OP, this is still true no matter what “it’s on our website somewhere” cop-out is used. Too bad there’s no option for a refund.
As you feel strongly about this, I can recommend you make a suggestion that that information is included.
I can empathise with you, but keep in mind there’s limited space in the in-game UI, and every piece of information is arguably important enough to be included.
It is just a basic product page. It doesn’t provide much in the way of specifics. As Amaelalin said, if you believe it should list more information please feel free to provide constructive feedback in the appropriate forum.
The Feedback Discussion for our shop is generally your best bet.
Good luck.
we get it, you didn’t do your due diligence but somehow it’s Blizzard’s fault. But the truth is the information was there at the tip of your fingertips if you had bothered to look
