Boomkin ptr change

You’re right there. Most classes defenses don’t turn their damage off completely.

And they get a defensive every two min or so. As opposite to bear form which has a cd of exactly 0.0 minutes, aside from gcd.

Right. But, what if I could bein bear form and still dps at 80% effectiveness, like a warrior. Or, if I could be completely immune to everything for my entire burst window, like a paladin. And the list goes on.

Then that would be completely broken. You guys understand that boomkins are casters right, and that as casters you have to have some inherent squishiness or they are broken. If you can kite a melee, you win. If they have uptime on you, they win. That’s how it’s always worked.

Bear form is already heavily nerfed in 9.1 due to celestial guardian now being useless. Boomies got nerfs to offensive burst & survivability.

Arms warrior has actually received only buffs due to new venthyr soulbind working well with their kit.

Not 20%, 10%.

20% less healing in bear, including your own, is pretty big tbh. we will have to see how it pans out. also the high winds debuff is dispellable

I actually really like the stacking instant cyclone change… It may be too much as a product of the interaction with that other talent, though; yet to be seen.

My understanding is that it’s just an addendum to the Owlkin Frenzy proc they already get (proc chance when attacked). So, in theory, if you don’t want them instant cloning you just attack a different target.
Seems like this is just aimed at letting them get clones out periodically while being oppressed by a melee cleave, which I really don’t hate.

Overall, I actually really like the boomkin changes. Not sure how they’ll affect its position in the meta, but it seems like they’re finding promising ways to incentivize them spending more time in caster form playing the game.

This terrifies me, TBH.
Won’t make a huge difference for kitty/jungle, but frankly even a marginal bump to those comps would be undeserved. Thinking about this change makes me scared $#@!less of FMX next season; I hope I’m wrong to feel this way. Only time will tell.

open your character menu, look at your armor in moonkin form.

shift into bear form. look at your armor again.

8% dmg reduction difference.

being able to inta clone and insta root melee cleaves is worth the 8%

only idiots are going to be training a boomie now anyways.

Great, so when does my arcane mage get insta cast sheeps? Seems fair because I only have one school of magic and can’t heal myself.

People keep saying that. It’s not instant. Why does everyone think it is? You can’t use both charges on the same spell, obviously. AND it’s dispellable.

I’d rather have celestial guardian back.

This is not obvious at all, based on the tooltip/notes. Good to know, though; admittedly I’m kinda disappointed about it on behalf of boomkins (which I do not play).

even if it’s not instant, good luck kicking a 0.5 sec cast which a boomie can do easily by creating space.

I mean the Cguard nerf is pretty substantial, can be just trained into the dirt now I’d imagine idk

On the upside, they are a lot less squishier now. And even then the procs that reduce cyclone’s cast time only happen if the boomkin is getting attacked.

Atleast there is a prerequisite to casting the cyclone. Imagine if it was always instant while you trained them. That would be excessive. So many interupts and silences in this game, boomkin just gets some relief for being pressured all the time. No biggie seems warranted imo.

and stuff like this is the reason wow will be completely dead next szn :c

That’s exactly why it’s ridiculous and these changes are nonsensical. Now when healers get out of their long CC chains and try to top someone off, they won’t be able to heal. And by the time they’re able to get a good heal off, they’re back into another cc chain.

PvP going down the drain
