I have made RBG teams and boomys only good thing is AOE.
Take away the AOE and ya got nothing.
Buff starsurge by like 300% and then nerf the AOE>
Boomies have good single target burst, advanced mobility, off-heals, a team wide damage amp, and Cyclone is one of the best CCs in the game.
I’m sorry, but you do not know what you are talking about.
If you look at Arena ladder stats, Boomies are one of the most represented specs. Arena has 3 players a team. It’s not like Boomie doesn’t compete in smaller scale content.
The issue with Boomies is they scale up dramatically in BGs. More targets means more astral power. Means more procs. Their big AoE ability has a long duration and massive radius. And when talented into Starburst they suffocate the enemy team in choke points - where most objectives are placed. IE LM, DWG nodes, EotS middle, SSM carts, etc.
Boomies don’t even have to hardcast Starfire anymore.
There is no defense for this.
Is destroying boomie for a while really that bad?
They’re constantly top or upper mid tier in PvP almost every single patch of every single xpac.
God forbid they AREN’T fotm for once in their life. They don’t need any more damage even if nerfed. They should never be matching mages or locks in damage out, especially with how much utility balance brings.

If you nerf the AOE for boomys you will never see them again. Other specs will take over and you will be here whining about those.

Typically, a balance druid is only going to put up ridiculous numbers in healer stalemate team fights. It’s sustained AOE damage is too high for how easy it is to do.
The damage profile is different, but do you also find issues with destruction evoker in similar BG chokepoint situations?

Im talkin about abilities with them. FLappy hands is broken as is perma chains of ice.
They do need a rebuild for sure but nerf those abilities if ya gonna nerf boomys into never seeing htem again.
Feral is already in pretty good shape against mages and locks outside of epics… says nothing about about how balance could use an aoe nerf and we don’t need to give people more reason to play boomie.

Evoker peak damage is too high and it’s going to be nerfed next patch.
All aoe obviously gets more value in choke points, but nothing lasts as long or has as massive a radius as Starfall.
Boomie’s aoe damage isn’t one brief chunk of burst in a narrow line or small circle. It rots an enemy team down with no equal. In any traditional team fight with healers, the side without the Boomie should lose (barring factors like gear.)

Yeah, Rets were insane right after the rework. Rets were so good, it made WorldPvP buy Dragonflight.
Evoker can put out more damage in a short team fight with an initial chokepoint. Many initial team fights in random BGs are short. Balance druid will pull way ahead in healer stalemates and over the course of the full BG.

Oh trust me, I don’t disagree. The second I got into a BG and saw what Ret was capable of I was like “oh yeah this is getting nerfed… hard,” and I was fine with them nerfing Rets. But the thing is, the devs were quick to nerf Rets. While Boomies didn’t get reworked, they are still absolutely dominating just about every competitive game mode in PvP. Teams are stacking Boomies for a reason. So all I wanna know is, why hasn’t there been any mention of any type of nerf to them?

Boomie didn’t get much of a BG nerf.
Starfall and Starburst weren’t nerfed.
They mostly lost Astral Power generation, but in BGs you have so many targets you can still cap on Astral Power quickly.
Goldrinn’s Fang nerf was good though
yeah evoker deep breath is cool and fun. but imo starfall overall better
u can hit people left, right, back… literally a giant radius circle of damage.
deep breath u can literally just walk out of the way of it if u have an eyeball and see it coming
