If any dev plays the game, they would nerf the crap out of Starburst by now.

Boomies literally doing 3 times anyone else’s damage from Starburst into narrow terrain like LM and DWG nodes. Shoulda been nerfed week 1.

Random procs for 50k damage aren’t helping either.

I think the first thing they need to tune down is the distance that Starfall hits. As a boomie I love topping the charts in epic BGs, however I’ve noticed that the distance Starfall is hitting is just insane. I never realized how bad it was until just this week playing Ashran. Horde was losing the opener battle at RoC so I ran away and went for a Song Flower. The entire time from RoC to where the flowers spawn I couldn’t stealth because enemy Starfalls were hitting me the entire time. Makes no sense that an AoE should be hitting halfway across a BG map. Also, OP I think you’re mixing up Starsurge and Starfall perhaps?

There are other powerful elements of the spec, but Starburst itself overloads narrow pathways, doing massive damage and dishing out tons of micro-cc.

It’s just another layer of damage Boomie doesn’t need.

Starfall should go back to something akin to MoP design, being a 1min CD reset/reduced by lunar eclipses.

That way people can stop hard-casted Wraths to stop Starfalls, and be punished if they don’t.

High damage is fine as long as survivability/heals are low to offset this, or lowered mobility so they are easily countered by melee. But druids have always been about mobility so I think the solution is less self healing since boomkin is a DPS spec at heart.

If giant glowing balls on the ground are a problem for you stay away from PvE content.

There are a few places where they are kind of unavoidable and can’t be seen easily to avoid, like a big team fight at lava cart in SSM or a big team fight in mid of EOTS.

Otherwise, yes… they really aren’t much of an issue. Not sure this is the right thing to be focusing on for things wrong with balance druid.

Star bursts do well in small areas where enemies are stacked.
Same with every other area effect ability since 2004.

Kind of on the same page, since we’re talking about Boomies being absolutely broken… How come when the Ret rework came through, the Devs quickly hit Rets with the nerf bat multiple times in about a month’s span, yet, Boomy is literally ruining PvP right now in a lot of ways, and there’s been nothing (that I’ve seen at least, maybe I missed a blue post though) about Boomkin getting nerfed any time soon? Just find it, odd.

Id gladly take a AOE nerf in exchange for a HUGE buff is starsurge to equal that of a LOcks bolt or a MM hunter sniper shot ETC…

Except Starburst lasts as long as Starfall. Whereas Bane of Havoc or Deep Breath are short in duration.

Boomie is a repeat offender in the too much AOE department. And this season it’s gone back to problematic levels.

Starburst combined with random procs, spread pressure, and instant Starbursts is overkill.

No. Boomie is still top tier in Arena. They just don’t need this much uncapped AOE potential. It’s problematic in BGs.

Nobody else can do this much damage.

I know RBGs is dead content, but if you were to make an RBG team, just bring like 5 Boomies and you’d win every team fight.
