What does that have to do with what we are discussing? You still haven’t explained why, if someone only enjoys playing one spec, and that spec is massively undertuned, that they should be expected to change specs and stop having fun or just suffer in an unplayable state, rather then the spec get buffed.
Yes. Literally one Survival Hunter, because BM is better on that fight.
I never said I am. I get AotC then just enjoy the game. While I used to be a mythic raider I quit doing it cause it was sapping the fun out of the game for me. Just enjoy the game the way you see fit. Who cares if your top dps if the boss is dead and your not then it’s a good day.
And MM is better than both.
Again…no reason to be BM, even in your example.
If there is only one spec in the game you like playing, maybe you don’t really like the game all that much.
Who sad I was mad…
BTW
Here’s the best recorded damage to bosses for 15’s
Looks like mostly it’s the best AOE specs
Except people are playing BM. There are many more BM logs than Survival logs on M Jailer, because BM does more boss damage while the other two do more AoE.
If the group needs more AoE, MM will be more useful, but many groups do not. In those cases, BM is better.
It’s a real shame if you enjoy the way a spec plays and feels, and then find out it’s ‘not meta’.
Wait you think MM is better than Survival right now?
Referencing his Jailer Mythic logs only.
Most folks don’t log keys.
It’s not a perfect representative sample since it’s self selecting. But it’s better data then forum goer X’s opinion.
Here’s page 400 of the boss damage for just one dungeon at level 15
The actual DPS is probably including a lot of down time so it looks lower than what you would see in a dungeon, but that would be across the board for all specs.
If people really cared about boss damage like you say, Feral druid would be in demand.
There are ZERO Feral parses for Mythic jailer.
Why would Feral be in demand when there’s better specs than them at ST that don’t have the downside of being melee?
Feral is #1 ST spec in Mythic.
That’s what we call a sample size issue.
If you’ve got 6 parses on Halondrus, the 95th percentile is literally one parse. So you’re comparing the literal best parse for Feral Druids to like the top 50-60 parses for meta specs.
If you wanna compare small sample sizes, you look at rankings, not statistics.
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/29/#boss=2542
On Skolex, the best Feral parse is ~1600 DPS behind the best parse (Fire Mage).
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/29/#boss=2529
On Halondrus, the best Feral Parse is ~1900 DPS behind the best parse (Enhancement Shaman).
The takeaway from this data shouldn’t be that “Feral is the best ST spec”, it’s that to play Feral at the level where you’re killing Halondrus requires exceptional play to not be benched in favour of basically any other spec.
Good points all.
Feral’s boss damage sucks right now for what that spec is supposed to do. It doesn’t even sim highly whatsoever.
Not to mention that no fight, not even the ST fights of this tier is actually a true Patchwerk and stuff like cooldown timings and how hard you can burst in windows, not to mention mechanical resilience (i.e. “how much do mechanics gimp my DPS”) are all also very important metrics that don’t inherently show up on logs, not without some significant deep diving.
The last point especially is why Ferals despite having “good” ST DPS don’t show up much in progression raiding and BM despite having “bad” DPS does.
Unless BM is complete and utter dumpster tier, people are going to play it. That’s why it’s by far the most represented spec (and third most represented spec overall) on M Halondrus, since being able to do mechanics without losing DPS is far more relevant to progression than theoretical DPS is.
That’s not your decision to make. How much fun and how someone has it isn’t your call.
