Yes and it included Misdirect so I generally ignored it.

You’re not using the same standard other people are using when they’re describing how many abilities are included in a spec’s basic single-target rotation. End of story.

1. Why are you limiting this to single-target - BM is a cleave spec.

2. That list is literally what is on Icy Veins and Wowhead for BM Hunters. Icy Veins offers folding in talents and covenant abillities, there is some difference between the two, but it is NOT a 3-button rotation.

Do you consider your Druid AOEs as part of your rotation? I did when I was actively playing my Druid. Why would you say that including efficiently maintaining Beast Cleave is NOT part of the base rotation for BM Hunter then?

Because we are talking about single target.

When people are talking about the amount of buttons a spec uses, it’s shorthand for what’s in the basic single target rotation. No cooldowns (>= 1 minute), no AoE, no utility, no borrowed powers. For example, Survival is often described as a 4 button spec because its basic single target priority includes 4 abilities: Raptor Strike, Kill Command, Serpent Sting, Wildfire Bomb. The last one is an AoE but it is part of the single target rotation as well. Beast Cleave is not.

BM’s set bonus is a bit of a stinker, I’ll admit that much, but… you do realize that Marksmanship and Survival are both downright ludicrous at the very same things BM isn’t good at, right? So, like… if you feel like BM’s tier sucks in AoE, you could just go MM or Survival and completely slaughter every other spec in the game at AoE since you still have their insanely good tier.

BM is actually a single target spec with some cleave talents. MM is the two target cleave spec.

Because we are talking about single target.

So remove the one ability in there that adds Beast Cleave. It’s still more than 3 buttons. The Covenant ability is both AOE and Single Target enhancement because of the haste buff - very important for a BM Hunter. Remove that if you want. You still need the three self buffs and the rest of it. STILL more than 3 buttons.

But the earlier post about how OP BM Hunters are isn’t relevant if you’re only talking about single target because they’re a cleave class.

The thread can’t have it both ways. It can’t say “BM is stupid OP” and “BM is only a 3-button class” - it’s NOT OP if you’re only hitting 3 buttons.
