Blue Skywitch Attire and Mount Bundle

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

alright

Enjoy your vagueposting.

I will. Thanks, as always, for your permission.

About half of that is the new brutosaur, so that works out to… four things? Not exactly earthshattering.

Except for a few “optional” “bundles” for 50$ followed by more “bundles” for 50$ if the first are financially profitable.

I care more about the game functioning properly than cosmetics… but if Blizzard is given the green light by players to let the cash shop quadruple in size and then the people “complain” there’s really not a whole lot that can be done to pivot back out of it. The shop will be more profitable than the game itself. Blizzards focus will then be on producing good shop items as opposed to making their game function better.

No, I don’t think they’ll ever do this, they’re making money every which way by influencing the price of the “token” and having it purchased/converted.

Gawsh it’s almost like blizzard is a business trying to make money by offering products and services! The nerve!

At least it’s not another $90 mount.

Speculation that doesn’t exactly meet with what we see currently trending in how they handle the shop.

The only time I see the shop getting that large, is if the game goes free to play. But I don’t see people complaining about the quality of Final Fantasy and that shop is huge.

Most likely not, but I’d still be vocal if they did. We’re talking hypotheticals here.

I got mine for free. Don’t see the problem here.

That sky sure is coming down any day now, huh Chicken Little?

Heard this kind of dooming since the shop was added… oh about 16 years ago?

Still waiting.

Omg that skirt is so cute!

This is the important part. EVERYTHING in the shop is available via gold EARNED IN GAME. And none of it is power related or required. So there’s no reason to complain about the shop at all. :see_no_evil::speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil:

$10 USD = 147,761 gold (as I write this)… why is it such a barrier that you buy it from the shop vs in-game for gold, when you can freely convert from gold to cash and vice-versa in “whole Token” amounts?

I know plenty that wouldn’t spend $90 of their hard-earned cash on the Gilded Bruto, but didn’t hesitate a second to convert 1.2M gold into cash to buy it from in-game resources. Given a method and practical examples, I don’t get how people can ever complain that anything in the Shop “should’ve been in-game on a vendor”?

That’s a pretty huge conjecture… if the base game isn’t viable, then yes it could just become a dress-up simulator. Is that likely? I just can’t see that even in the next 20 years… that’s some serious X-to-Doubt tin-foil hat kind of conclusion there.

We JUST got the purple version on the trading post…to this facepalm

Op is right. They are going overboard with the microtransactions…

Only time will tell what their “goals” are with housing. We’ve clearly reached the point that a lot of people see no problem with any of it though.

I think it’s troubling that a 90$ mount is even offered on the store. That’s as much as the epic edition for the expansion.

Considering this was their stance for removing the OG Bruto…

I question what Blizzards real motives are and what they can be swayed to do for a dollar.

I feel like I’m part of the problem for participating in the token fiasco that happened when it dropped. Whatever “market” they’ve got going on with the token does not function well at all when buyers in the AH > sellers that bought a token for real money.

If it went F2P I’d assume the cash shop would explode with cosmetics while the game would decline and be maintained worse than it already is. I love certain elements they’ve added (like delves). I hate other elements like scaling, one shot bugs, latency issues etc… I do expect for my “sub fee” that the game is functionally sound. If you take away my “sub fee” and give me access for free, I’m assuming the quality will sink to an all time low.

I was probably one of those people…

Back then it was just “a couple of things” mostly a few mounts/pets with a “bundle” every now and then. Now there are mogs, toys, “bundles” all the time, “charity” causes, token inflation caused directly by additions to the store. Kind of a mess and it’s a mess that has no rhyme or reason along with Blizzard making massive profits for really low effort.

I have no problem affording it or understanding how any of it “works”. I didn’t know it even existed until looking at all the shop items recently. I don’t think I should have to play the token game to get it, it could have been a really cool reward in game that a majority of people who participated in anniversary content could purchase… but no. How sad, basically no one knows about or gets to actually use the Magical Murkmorpher toy in game.

The logic in what appears on the shop, in the trading post and in game are starting to become questionable. There are two recolors of the sky witch mog. One in the trading post and one in a bundle… in December.

I could, but I probably won’t be around to see it happen. I could even see this game not existing at all. A lot can happen in 20 years.

I did laugh at that insanity, but I hope it’s not going to be the norm.

Yeah, that was five years ago. Prior to MS ownership. So I get what you’re saying.

I think that’s more a MS marketing thing than a Blizzard thing.

Eh… not necessarily. SWTOR went f2p pretty quickly, but had some outstanding updates and expansions after that.

Ironically, their 10th anniversary screwed all that up. But prior to that… it had one of the neatest gearing systems, great talent system and Shadow of Revan was a fantastic storyline. They added a lot of strongholds, decos, new companions, holidays, etc.

I rarely experience any of this, so it hasn’t been a detriment to my playing.

They did the same with the black and purple, though. They said things would rotate in and out of both and they have.

I really enjoyed the first few months of playing SWTOR, I think I left when it went F2P…

Pretty sure you’ll remember this?

Recently I was leveling a little shaman doing starter quests around Sen’jin Village. Took an arrow to the knee from one of the mobs out there which put a deadly dot on my character… a 12 sec poison debuff ticking for over half my characters health a second. Little bugs like this will go unnoticed for a long time and usually do negatively impact a decent amount of people.

I honestly don’t care, I realize I hate it… and others love it. The whole trading post is a pass this month and shoving a mog that’d make more sense for February in there is an odd move. I mean if I had any influence we would have had adorable santa mogs involved… not the skywitch.

Yep. Which is why I said “rarely.” I died to that twice. lol But we still finished the dungeons without issue.

The Trading Post is exactly what I asked for a long time ago and I do enjoy it— even when there’s stuff on it that I don’t want. I save Tender that way for things I do want. And rotating stuff in and out of the Post and cash shop means people get the option of buying stuff with real money, gold or Tender. Which I think is a good marketing move. I like choices.

As for the icy Skywitch set… it may have hearts on it, but I get why they did the icy blue for winter. And all in all, that bundle is a decent deal.

I think it was inevitable to see anniversary items on the shop. And charity pets usually do come up this time of year. And so does a new mount or outfit this time of year, as well. I think what’s triggering some is that it all came out at the same time, due to the anniversary. But this isn’t the norm.

It’s not bad overall, this month is a miss though. I’ve “saved” over 5,000 cause I just don’t care for a lot of it. My “need” for another mount, pet, bad sword mog is fairly low.

Now if they would have given a Winterwitch mog… I probably would have hopped on that. I just think the recolor “value” isn’t there and the timing makes more sense for valentines.

There is a lot all at once, it feels like a red flag… because perhaps it is. What if this does become the norm for cash flow purposes.

Edit:

I think all healers should demand repair reparations.
