Blue Eyes for Blood Elves

Not much, most people who want that play belf already tbh.

Trust me, while I know it’s a highly played allied race, the tantrums people threw over them not being high elves exist and are plentiful. They’ve just died down/been contained to certain megathreads

Lore wise, it is possible for them to have blue eyes once again, however, I still think it would be extremely petty coming from Blizzard to give the Blood Elves blue eyes. They know how much alliance players want high elves, it’s been discussed for ever, and even if they gave the Blood elves blue eyes, it would still be leaving high elves out of the picture since they would be Sin’'dorei whose eye colour just changed eventually because of the manipulation of the arcane magic present in the Sunwell.

I still think they are going to say f* it and give it to them so they can drink pro helfers tears, like they always have

Eh, could’ve had some alleria style ves, but grape elves are neat too.

I should make one named Smucker.

Because Arcane is the opposite of Fel. Arcane is the power of Order, Fel is the power of Disorder. It seems more likely the opposing force would counter it than (if the order of the cosmology chart matters in what is next to each force) an adjacent power like Holy.

Oh of course, I shan’t deny that. There are always complainers. WoW can never be perfect to all people, as all people are different. That’s why I say just add the skin tones to Void Elves and be done with it.

I won’t touch them, but it is a nice option for those who want it.

Sometimes in life we need to see that what we thought we wanted wasn’t all that exciting. There was a time I would have asked for Silver Covenant High Elves, though the Ren’dorei have won me over.

More interesting, better transmog, and on the better Faction to boot. It’s a win in my book.

(Commentary): I’m not sure the Devs are quite so petty. I think they’re out of touch with their playerbase, and on both factions, not just the Alliance. That said, I also think that World of Warcraft is at a crucial point in it’s lifespan. Players are increasingly dissatisfied with the game, and the developers are going to need to listen, correct errors, and implement things players desire. The Alliance population has been dragging in end-game participation this entire expansion, it’s Allied Races are largely dismissed as failures to engage, and trends right now suggest that the Alliance population at large is decreasing. While this is more likely to be a result of end-of-expansion lethargy rather than transfers to the Horde, the fact remains that if they want that segment of the playerbase back, they need to seriously deliver.

But to me arcane has never been shown to corrupt or undue fel.

Fel has been shown to corrupt arcane users.

And then you have Holy which literally acts as a weed to dominate all things, it makes sense Golden eyes are available imo, and why Blue Eyes aren’t.

Because I’ve never seen arcane actively try to dominate the way Fel or Holy does, it’s a power source people use for power, but a lot of times characters heavily influenced by it even try to covet the knowledge from others. Not go around lightforging or Fel-afying (if that’s a word) everything.

Sorry how is a separate group of Blood Elf defectors who were corrupted by the Void, “Twisting Lore”? At most, that’s called creating lore sweetheart.

I understand most Blood Elf players don’t get how lore works but i’d love for you to explain how that equals "I deserve blue eyes even though the fountain obviously gives me yellow now because screw Alliance requests"

Ah, that never fails to amuse.

Bear in mind that I only speak for myself. I wouldn’t dream of thinking that my opinion is universal or well-received. It works for me.

And part of it is that in what we see so far, Arcane is accepted whereas fel is not. We are probably more likely to see someone going from mage to warlock as “Falling to fel” but the reverse is thought of in more positive terms.

Same for the rest of us friend. It’s all fun and games.

Well yea, I haven’t died to an arcane mage in a while, but demon hunters and warlocks are annoying.

(/bubble arcane missiles coming at me in thread)

They hamfisted a story just to give you guys something.

Void elves are literally High elves who defected from the Alliance after how they were treated by said Alliance, lost their families and renamed themselves Blood elves in honor of the fallen, got hooked on fel, then experimented with void magic, got exiled and came back to the Alliance, the people they hate and the Alliance accepted them despite the fact they ARE TAMPERING WITH VOID MAGIC.

What source would provide red?

Not against it just curious.

Biggest pot meet kettle moment I’ve had in my history of being on the forums, well done.

I am also biased in that I grew up reading H.P. Lovecraft and other strange novels and stories. I adore anything connected with those ideas, and the Ren’dorei are the literal embodiment of the Void made manifest in flesh, controlled and mostly sane.

My only regret with the race is that the high collar on the heritage armour clips with all long male hair styles. You can remove the collar, but doing so also removes the void-wings. An absolute oversight.

Actually if you start a new Nightborne character, you’ll see mages undoing the fel corruption from the floor with arcane magic and that stuff, you know, the little place in between the two rooms before you go upstairs to fight Tichoundrius. And also, we know fel and arcane are counterparts, if fel can corrupt arcane, it would be only logic for arcane to “purify” fel
