Blue Eyes for Blood Elves

Personally I feel Holy entities act like weeds, Yrel seeking to light forge everything, Illidan almost being “cleansed”. Anything the light controls it tends to want to dominate on others.

Why when left alone would the regular nature of the energies not act like a weed also? Yes it’s part arcane and holy, but holy has a tendency to act like a weed, so I don’t see the argument for Blue Eyed Blood Elves.

I do support Alliance HE’s though, and would refer people to playing already existing blue eyed Thalassian VE’s but at the end of the day it’s not really a fight that interests me past I don’t think Holy magic is anything but a weed like magic and I haven’t been shown anything to believe otherwise.

Works a lot like Fel, if it made “lore sense” for BE to get Blue eyes, they would of gotten it when they gave them yellow eyes AND green eyes.

At this point, asking for more is just greed, plain and simple, especially if you’re willing to stretch lore for a cosmetic option. Typical Blood Elf players.

I want blue so badly for this toon…

(Commentary): I don’t really agree with this, but I do think blue is a color best left out of the pallet unless the Devs are going to invest in other ways to make High Elves visually distinct. Colors such as red or purple also make sense for Blood Elves, just as an example. Perhaps white as well.

thats what blood elves ARE, the high elves

it annoys you that the high elves have left the alliance. but they did. aand they have now been a part of the horde for far, far longer than they were a part of the alliance

its a trash can position that a political opinion means the scraps of the blood elves(high elves) that amount to literally a couple elves in SW are a different race. they are not. this race is playable. an AR variant of them is also playable. what is not playable is the non variant race on the blue faction and for very obvious reasons

you want to be a high elf? thats a blood elf. literally. otherwise void elves are there for you

it makes sense lorewise. backed up by devs saying it will fade in time and just takes a while to wear off. and danuser saying only high elves with a strong devotion to the light will manifest golden eyes. so why cant magister types, who are heavy users in the arcae, manifest blue eyes with that logic? the sunwell is arcane as much as it is holy after all. please tell me besides ‘i dont think it makes sense because my feels.’ ill wait a bit for an answer, i expect a dodge tho, before i take off for some netflix before bed

You know we already have gold eyes right ?

I don’t know about purple, but I definitely agree with them getting white and red eyes.

I’m right here, I’m as much a High Elf as you are. Of course, you are playing a corpse. So you’re not really an Elf at all, just a collection of dead flesh reanimated by unholy magic.

Canonically it’s been less than ten years since the events of the Burning Crusade. Blood Elves haven’t even been with the Horde for a decade at this point, hardly what I would call “longer”.

Yea. I know…

My belf has them.

Alliance colors blue and silver, when do we get silver haired blue eyed elves?

they teamed up with the alliance, then always left right after the threat was dealt with. they havent left the horde once since TBC

This is my take as well.

Holy has been shown to undue Fel influence.

Holy has been shown to try to snuff out other magic sources.

Why should arcane undue Fel green eyes?

Holy can and has but that’s because Holy loves to dominate and influence things, arcane is imo chill in regards of control it can be chaotic but it’s not only known for being chaotic. Where as Holy you can argue is known for being and acting like a weed.

So I think yes, BEs would have and should have received Blue eyes already if there was a lore case for it. But they confirmed 40* options for BEs and I think we will get some stuff like undead skin tones, jewelry etc. but I do not think we will see Blue Eyes.

And I do not think there is a case for Blue Eyes. Nothing I have seen makes me think of Holy magic as ANYTHING other than a weed stomping out other magical schools.

Yes, and? That doesn’t change the fact that it’s been less then ten years. “Longer” implies a very long time, not simply a handful of years.

yea, im shutting you down. canon wise only high elves with a strong devotion to the light can manifest golden eyes once theyve been cleansed. sunwell is also arcane, potential is there for magister types with a strong devotion to the arcane.

have a good night all

I mean we can say the EXACT same thing about all the Alliance that got Void Elves when Blizzard made it clear High Elves wouldn’t be playable for Alliance. They twisted the lore for you guys, gave you a slightly altered, but cool race and what did you guys do? Scream in the forums that it wasn’t exactly what you wanted…

(Commentary): The degree of arcane magic needed to over-write the fel would be an amount so high it’d likely lead to said magister becoming one of the Wretched. The one case of fel corruption being over-written by arcane that I can think of, would be the demons of the Black Temple in Burning Crusade, who were given an extremely potent source of arcane energy to feed from, to break from away from the Legion. This caused them to turn blue where otherwise they would be green.

(Supposition): I think it’s plausible that in time a Blood Elf could wield the arcane and experience the fel being cleansed to the point they’d develop blue eyes. However, if their source of the arcane is the Sunwell, rather than leylines like everyone else, I think there is logic behind them developing gold eyes instead.

(Speculative): There’s a difference between being passively sustained by the Sunwell, and actively drawing upon it’s power. It seems to me the Blood Elves, having direct control of it, draw upon the Sunwell’s power, whereas the High Elves, not having regular access to it, are simply sustained by it.

You mean nightborne?

I don’t think you’ve shut anyone down, ever lol.

Bye.

Hardly. I personally am much happier with this outcome. Imagine playing something that was merely a palate swap of eyes on the Alliance? I’m bored just thinking about it.

No, the Alliance are the true winners here. We gain all the benefits of playable High Elves, with the added bonus of Void-infused mastery. Also, tentacles.

Of course, there is always the chance that Blizzard will enhance AR customizations in the future too. Allowing for more natural skin tones, just for that crowd that wants it.

No, pretty ones.

Know who else likes silver and blue? The silver covenant.

I can’t even imagine the amount of salt that’ll pour in to GD if they give Belf’s blue eyes.
