Blue Eyes for Blood Elves

The last interaction we saw from Quel’danas had no High Elves though. So I think it’s only fair to apply your logic to that scenario, which would mean they’re not around anymore.

dude there arent that many high elves(non blood elf). we can also apply your logic to allerian stronghold and highvale. since we havent heard from either of them in over a decade they must not be there anymore. although in allerian strongholds case im almost certain they arent there anymore. when you can cite something that says differently let me know until then they still return to the homeland

So back handed high elves?

I was using your logic to be ironic, so this is your logic. And even then, it still works in my favor, lmao. The last interaction we had with them showed the High Elves around and alive. So that would mean they’re still like that, according to you.

You have nothing to even prove this though. Seeing them in Quel’danis once–and it wasn’t even the most recent interaction with Quel’danis-- doesn’t mean they’re buddies with the Blood Elves.

it doesnt matter. you only need to see it once to establish something

nothing in game or lore implies differently. only elf on bad terms with quel’thalas is vereesa and possibly the few elves left in her tiny SC of dalaran

The last thing we saw was a Sunwell with absolutely no High Elves though. So…?

Everything does. Nothing in lore implies that they’re buddies and care for each other. Lor’themar respects High Elves enough to have allowed pilgrimage that one time, and that’s as far as we’ve seen. Auric, the high elves in Dalaran and everywhere else in the Alliance have been all to willing to kill Blood Elves.

blood elves are high elves so we did see high elves

not arguing this. if you want to think it was a one time thing thats up to you. lorthemar flat out said no child of quel’thalas would be denied visiting the sunwell. all high elves are free to visit until something states other wise

I hope they do. It would be a nice eye color for Arcane mages.

it really is stupid to be a mage and only get the option for green or gold at this point

There’s something I feel needs to be stated though and this is as per the lore.

Blood Elves were High Elves in the past prior to the destruction of the Sunwell.

Ergo, a blue eyed blood elf is a high elf at that point. Horde has had high elves, they’re just known under their current name of blood elves in honor of the events that followed the destruction of the Sunwell by the Scourge.

(Statement): A green-eyed Blood Elf is still a High Elf.

(Commentary): And a Forsaken, a Worgen, and a Kul Tiran are all still humans. As one of the CMs said some time ago, playable races aren’t the totality of a race, but a specific faction of that race. When you play a human, you’re playing a Stormwind Human. When you’re playing a Worgen, you’re playing a Gilnean Human. When you’re playing a Kul Tiran, you’re playing a Human from Kul Tiras. When you’re playing a Blood Elf, you’re playing a High Elf from Quel’Thalas. What people want to play, are the High Elves from Dalaran, whom go by the name of High Elves.

…Lol

That’s what I’ve said plenty of times already. He has enough respect for them to allow pilgrimage to the Sunwell. But from everything we’ve seen, that’s where they stop interacting with each other. If that one scenario in BC can be used as an example, we can also imagine it’s been pretty awkward. Sitting on the opposite sides of the room, Auric only ever saying on thing to a Blood Elf and that was basically to call him a clown.

Physically? Yes. But they’re still actually blood elves, even if they have blue eyes.

Those are just untainted blood elves if you boil it down. What would resolve a lot of this is to have Void Elves have the option to be fair skinned with normal hair like Alleria.

Blood Elves are High Elves that went to Outland after the destruction of the Sunwell. Void Elves are Blood Elves that dipped their mitts into the void. They’re both originated from the same elf, High elves! So really, just let void elves be fair skinned, and blood elves have blue eyes and bam! Both sides can be High Elves now! Problem solved!

(Commentary): I think we’re long past that point to be honest. There are certain class options High Elves would have that Void Elves cannot; Paladin, namely. There are also certain classes High Elves could have, which even Blood Elves don’t make sense for; Shamans and Druids. Void Elves don’t make much sense for either of those either. I think in terms of nostaglia, as well as class options, High Elves bring far too much to the table to just add customization to Void Elves and call it a day. Besides, that would be tantamount to admitting Void Elves were a bad idea in the first place. They were very clearly made to eschew any of the traditional High Elf customizations.

I think the community is asking a bit much pinning for High Elves to be their own race. We really don’t need yet another elf race. Seriously, at this point WoW’s turning into D&D with how many flavors of elf we got running around.

the last time we saw ‘high’ elves and blood elves(high elves) together, they spent the entire expansion working with each other. the SC preferred to work with the farstriders fighting the legion, they even joined the unseen path together. then later got on a spaceship together. isnt that neat? they preferred working alongside their own people during legion then picking a side

even in bfa completely absent from the alliance, save for a few easter eggs. perfectly reflecting the alliance high elf situation

That’s true, actually. And it actually helps the Alliance’s case for playable High Elves even more(although we know they worked with each other, we don’t really know much about how they associated with each other. Basically everyone was working together, even the horde and alliance.)

How does it help the case for playable High Elves on the alliance? Well, despite ‘potentially’ getting along with the Blood Elves, they still refuse to declare themselves as Blood Elves and they still choose to remain loyal to the ALliance and themselves.

(Commentary): I don’t disagree, but there is another elf race I’ve seen Horde players showing an interest in: San’layn. Really, I don’t think Void Elves were ever necessary. If we’d gotten High Elves to begin with, Void Elf customization could’ve been added with a few classes excluded from selecting it. Unfortunately Void Elves as they are, are too strong of a, ‘flavor,’ lore-wise to add High Elf customization to them and calling it a day. As I said, certain class options just do not work for Void Elves.

(Commentary): I seem to have a very different recollection, something about the Siege of Suramar and Blood Elves placing little taunting things in Night and High Elf camps, and Dalaran Guards having to keep the two sides from physically assaulting one another… The Farstriders and Silver Covenant seemed to get along fine, its just the rest of the race that didn’t. Its also worth noting we’ve no indication that the Farstriders and Silver Covenant have formed any kind of lasting bonds. Most class hall order NPCs have ended up on opposite sides in BFA.

vereesa literally came running to help halduron defend the homeland from the amani in cata. and they worked together again throughout legion

its well known vereesa has beefs with rommath/lorthemar. but she still got on that ship on a suicide mission with liadrin and aethas :woman_shrugging:

While I do see your points. I’m of the same thought on San’layn. That would amount to more or less a watered down Blood DK. I don’t see any gain from adding either. Now from the images we got from Shadowlands, there’s a lot of potential of much more interesting ideas there.
