no they wouldnt have. lore reason is those closer to the light use holy magic constantly which would speed up dissipation and after being cleansed manifest golden eyes because the sunwell is part holy now. blue for magisters is a little slower because they arent casting holy magic but arcane and relying on the natural detox effect of the sunwell. gameplay reason is again people would complain the horde elves got 2 eye color options when alliance got 1
also people have to understand we are dealing with the same people who dont understand why they got void elves instead of a carbon copy of a horde race. the same people who went into golden eye thread requests and said it couldnt happen
Arcane isn’t shown to cleanse Fel, but holy is which also supports us not receiving blue eyes or we would have received them at the same time symbolizing the equality of the Sunwell, yet here Holy is acting like a weed influencing BE’s “faster” as you say
As someone else pointed out, if arcane was used for cleansing to the same extent that Holy has been seen to cleanse Fel, why haven’t they done so with Felwood?
its just not imo going to happen and as BE player I will support other customizations over this
it would happen naturally anyway if a high elf stopped being exposed to ambient fel magic per the devs, but the holy part of the sunwell cleanses it. literally the moment it was restored it began the process of dissipating
Listen people my blood elf visited the nightwell in legion, therefore I should be able to have whatever eye color I want … RIGHT??? Lets just keep inventing reasons why we should get eye colors, seems pretty easy.
There is no fel to cleanse. Blood Elves aren’t tainted. They’re affected. But its not a major infection of some kind. It was the closeness to the Fel Crystals we used to power our cities.
The Devs said it would fade, and those close to the Light are manifesting golden eyes… cause you know. Thalassian elves eyes (at least High and Blood) change with the magics being used or permeating an area.
Sunwell is arcane and holy, so blue eyes would likely return.
You see the Light’s agents get a little overzealous. There is no lore to indicate the Light itself is corruptive or a “weed” in any way.
Thats like saying “If humans were able to have Asian features we’d have seen them already”.
This logic doesn’t follow what I’ve seen you say before. Blizzard has said before that Blood Elves would lose the green tint because the Sunwell which is Arcane AND Holy would eventually change them back. Blizz added Golden as an experiment. It was something to add more customization before they decided to revamp it in SLs.
Its not some hidden they would all have Golden eyes. The devs would have just said that if it was.
All this back and forth bickering, when blue-eyed High Elves are already playable on the Alliance. I have no opposition to the lower class Sin’dorei obtaining a scrap of pity and being given the option to have blue eyes.
They still pale in comparison to the majesty, power, and force of will of the Ren’dorei. Mere peasants trying to play at nobility.
But it does apply in this case because Blizzard also goes out of their way to paint Holy infused things as Weed like things snuffing out other magics sources.
So I would say they would need to add them at the same time, yet they further proved Holy acts like a weed by “influencing” things first chance it gets.
Which if we receive 40 customizations
10 skin tones of undead for male and female is 20
5 new faces for each male and female 10
5 jewelry each 10
Tattoos would push us over 40
Why justify more customizations that can be explained away for us not having, and it would be a slight to Alliance. I do not think we will see Blue Eyes, and I will advocate for not having them
its a damn eye color. its a very small customization and makes sense. why would you be against it? like whats the point? is the SC of dalaran going to vanish? i mean they might as well and seemed to have, no longer have their own quarter in dal and alleria and her void elves are a playable race now
