Bloody tired

It got off-topic because there’s some boomer here that started talking about the death of America or some crap. And I do mean boomer. They said they were 60.

Anyway, OP, what kind of music to you like to listen to? Maybe I can make some recommendations?

God: Gabriel, have you finished setting up future events for the 2020s?
Gabriel: Yes, God, I hav- wait, did you say 2020s plural? As in the decade?
God: Of course, what else?
Gabriel: I thought you meant 2020 the year.
God: You put a decade worth of history in one year?
Gabriel: …yes.
God: …I should of had Jesus do it. -looks at Gabriel, Picard-Face-palms-

Thanks Gabriel.

I saw this yesterday afternoon. I laughed. And then nearly cried. And then I died a little inside.

Know what makes me sad most days? We’re so separated now… so against each other… so many can’t even respect each other due to so much divide, whether it’s race, religion, political party, gender, etc. In all my years, I’ve never felt so afraid to talk about things with other people who might have a different opinion. I’ve always been open minded, but lately… I’ve had to just sit back and keep my mouth shut. Hermit mode is very hermit now. :frowning:

Uncalled for.

I agree that part of it is how relatively clean we keep ourselves and how well we eat compared to the times of the bubonic plague. That’s part of the whole picture. But how relatively deadly is it compared to things like the flu which sweep around the world each year? You haven’t put any numbers on it, not have you proven your claim that hospital waiting times are unaffected.

I didn’t say all of what was being done wasn’t warranted either, you’re putting words into my mouth. I assume that those victims comprise of mostly elderly people also.

Finally, I’m not entirely convinced there aren’t some elements of theatre in the truck convoys, or that these kind of restrictions that would have worked well for these particular people (nursing homes etc, I assume, based on what I’ve heard of Italy’s situation) should be applied to the whole population or in similar ways in other cities states or countries with different population densities, but I’ll give those people running the convoys the benefit of the doubt.

If your family is particularly affected, you have my sympathies. Best regards. I’m complying with my local city’s restrictions but I can understand people’s frustration about their jobs too.

When was the last time a seasonal flu had 200k US deaths?

There’s a comic called Gabriel. You should check it out. I can’t link it here. It’s on Comixology, though.

I will scope it out. I need laughter and Mantenna does not cut it now.

One can only punish him so many ways.

OP I don’t really have any good advice but I am sending huuuuge hugs your way and just want to tell you that although it doesn’t feel like it right now, “sunnier horizons” are on the way. The world will get through this, we will come out smarter stronger and probably more sanitary as well ^^. Hang in there, even if it doesn’t feel like there is any point. But there is, this goes for all of us! ^^ xxxx

Just think if you’d picked me over Garrosh and Sylvanas…

Did ask those people die primarily because of it or of a combination of it and another disease or did they of other causes but with a mild infection of it? Also I’m on my phone so I can’t check the seasonal flu nos I’m afraid

Extremely. Have you even seen the numbers?

Flu deaths in the US last year, January to December: 22,000
COVID deaths in the US, January to November: 235,000

Flu deaths worldwide last year (high end): 645,000
COVID deaths worldwide in just 11 months: 1,227,096

Considering I have no income right now, I understand it, as well.

Yup. I’m done with this conversation.

Gonna keep this on topic now.

Irrelevant.

If you were going to be alive, but you got Covid. Covid is the cause of death.

If a person has diabetes, but a mugger stabs them with a knife and they die. They got killed from a friggin knife.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/past-seasons.html

22k, 34k, 61k, 38k, 23k, 51, 38k, 43k, 12k, 37k.

Those are the deaths from the seasonal flu the last 10 years.

Okdok, one wonders about such things at a distance from the hot spots, but I’ll let the conversation rest too.

Not sure what that has to do with me, so I’ll assume a misreply.

Sorry. I started to respond to you about one thing. My ADHD kicked in. Got distracted. Typed up another reply and completely forgot why I initially hit reply to you.

Was something about watching funny stuff I think.

It happens man, no sweat. =)

Thanks for the numbers, then it appears that it’s about ten times as bad as the flu, even given these precautions… plus I’m not sure about potential long term symptoms of course, so I’m glad at least some precautions were taken.
