Been thinking of race changing my Troll Hunter for awhile now. initially I was thinking Blood elf, I know I know. It’s tired, it’s stale, but blast it, it’s as iconic as Orc Warriors and Human paladins. And I love the lore behind elven rangers, plus I imagine being more wilderness oriented, Blood elf Hunters probably feel more at home among the Horde.
But I’ve recently been thinking Orc Hunter too, specifically Mag’har as a Mag’har Beast Master just tickles something deep within my being.
I dunno. I seriously do not know.

Between the two blood elf has more customisation options.
I’d say stick with them.

Belf since i hate maghar traits
Been trying. Both kind of make me happy. and then there’s the annoying voice in the back of my head saying if I do this I won’t have any Troll characters on my character list and…
You know, I’m sorry this was a waste of forum space.
blood elf if you’re okay with a bunch of 12 year olds who think “all blood elves are female” jokes.

If you were on an active RP server I would say go Blood Elf for that Farstrider RP but I don’t think your realm has much of that stuff.
Used to, don’t RP anymore but I do still like to imagine tiny little stories for my characters here and there.
Maghar orcs make great hunters, and the racial isn’t bad either.

My lovely Horde hunter.

Since when is Bloodelf Hunter iconic? Paladin, yeah. Blood Elves brought the class to The Horde and their order of Blood Knights were fairly central to TBC’s story.
Mage and by extension warlock, sure. The blood elves and high elves are renowned masters of the arcane arts. Later, somewhat infamously dabbling in fel magic quite openly.
But hunter? Maybe… maybe you could say because rangers, The Farstriders and Sylvanas. Yeah, they have them. But come now, iconic? Hardly

Depends on the look you wanna go for. If you want a real clean “Ranger” kind of look then obviously Blood Elf. But if want to look like a woodsman or have a more savage appearance then go Orc.
It’s all about preference.
You have two options here.
One of them is an Elf. The other is not an elf and therefore inferior.
The choice is obvious.

Zandalari looks awfully fitting for a beast master with decent rig for mogs (although no boots) with his roaring and laughing using abilities

I like the orc bowman animation better than elf.
If you are only looking at World of Warcraft then ya sure. But Elven Rangers have been a thing since WC2 and have deep lore. While the Farstriders have taken a hit with the addition of Blood knight, Elven Rangers are still one the military backbones for Blood elves.
So yes, Blood elf Hunter is Iconic.

Eeew changing the troll, the ultimate beast masters, born predators, to generic pew pew elf ranger a’la Legolas?
In this case, Orc is better choice. They live in wilderness, they’re the true survival hunters and they have very strong bond with their pets. Thunderlords are even known from taming Gromm.
You could also consider Tauren hunters.
Edit: I forgot about Zandalari hunters - the with ability to tame Oondasta and Horridon they looks super impressive.

Troll hunters are the sexiest. You can get mogged out like a shadow hunter. We got an awesome bow stance, plus that extra 10% haste helps getting more shots out while true shot is active. Plus we have an affinity for raptors, the coolest, smartest, most dangerous pet (lore wise probably) plus if you have the witherbark bat you can be a troll bat rider with sv! Leap from you bat and harpoon yourself to your enemies killing them with explosions, poisons, melee, and of course your bat will be helping you out attacking your opponent too

I could but they seem a little… big honestly, plus I’m not a huge fan of their bow animations.
Go regular orc. They’re better than both.
