If they end up making ‘Void Elf paladins’ then they kind of yeet 100% of the logic & lore reasons for not doing Forsaken Paladins directly out the window – of Blackrock mountain — Into the lava.
Really?
In my mind, Mechagnome Druids would be like terraformers. I could see them setting up a base in some remote, barren landscape and conduct experiments in how they would go about improving local conditions to support plantlife, seeing what sorts of plants thrive there, observe any evolutions, etc… Jars with Bronze Cogs for lids and bases, filled with bubbling water, inside of which are plant specimens being prepared, etc… Holographic Screens with percentages for the air quality, water quality, alkalinity of the soil, etc…
I suppose the big question is, why would they do this. Seems simple enough to me. Their goal was to become closer to their original form, with an interest in the Titans (saying this now, it’s shocking we don’t see more of them in Khaz Algar). Eonar is a Titan, and the Titans made use of Sholazar Basin and other locations for pretty much what I described above.
Gnome Druids and Shamans might actually be an even bigger middle finger to the lore than Forsaken Pallys. Can’t wait for that.
Actually, I like that.
I can see that working.
Also, very nice transmog aussielight
Gnome SHAMANS I could see work.
The Primalists lore indicates that many races that once hadn’t had elemental powers before, were now given the ability to commune with the elemental spirits & able to use the vast powers of shamanism through them — Having able to get such through powerful elemental spirits or through communing with the Primal Incarnates & other powerful elemental dragons themselves and being elevated / granted such boons & gifts by one or the other (or perhaps both).
I rather enjoyed that aspect of lore from the Primalists, it was pretty cool
Bwahahaha that’s fair To an extent that’s kind of me with gnome & undead shamans, however I could see it work in correlation to the lore with the Primalists lore @ what I wrote in my comment above
… That and we already have Goblin shamans, so gnome shamans isn’t toooo much of a far cry from them lol
Thanks
Funny enough I just recently mentioned the Primalists and currently have a Primalists-Themed transmog
Yes! Though of course it should be harder than riding a bike/learning guitar. It should ideally be like getting a PhD.
Especially when druidic magic is all about connecting to nature. Anyone who has the mental/emotional capacity to respect/connect with nature and worship the related deities should have the ability to wield nature magic. It should not require someone being “born” with an innate talent, that is in no way affected by their personal morals, beliefs, and efforts.
The idea of any race being born incapable of wielding magic is silly, imo. It may perhaps be harder for some than others given the societies they’ve grown up in and the subsequent fact that they may have to unlearn some of the societal teachings around them. But so long as it doesn’t directly contradict established lore, it should always be possible—and if it’s possible, it should be playable. There’s no lore saying an individual blood elf can’t decide to pursue druidism, so there’s no reason to not allow it (other than, of course, the fact that they don’t want to bother making more druid forms lol).
From Vault Of The Incarnates Wasn’t It?
I’m waiting until I get BIS before i Transmog my evoker, and Im not doing that before the end of this season of the war within, at which point i might go and play some classic for a bit
In the end it all becomes generic homogenized crap though. I liked that NE’s were the woodsy elves and HE/BE’s were the arcane elves. It helped give the races character and distinction. It drives everything from their architecture to the their dress and the way they structure their society. It makes them unique from each other.
Once anyone can be anything everything just becomes bland nothingness.
/shrug I’ll agree to disagree then.
LOL we are so far beyond that now I suppose it isn’t even worth worrying about. Looking back to Cata when they gave NE’s mages and I thought that was such a lore stretch. Oh to be that ignorant of what was to come once again.
- To really tick off the people who value lore in this game.
- Perhaps to grow incentive upon the player base to play a Mechagnome. But… tsk, c’mon.
- To show they really don’t care about what happens in this game.
- To step down and value themselves like the many clowns who asked for it.
Yep Thematic-wise and story-telling wise, I really thoroughly enjoyed that raid.
Loved the mechanics & boss fights too
Yeah that’s what I don’t like them doing with classes.
Which is why I think it’s a flawed argument when people argue X class should be hamfisted into the norm — Obviously in terms of cosmic / power sense there’s a fair point to keep it level, but I mean the more cultural aspects of it.
To be fair, the NE’s mages had a fair lore explanation but it was slipped in so subtly & obscurely that it was overlooked.
The Highborne leader from the Highborne mages of Eldre’Thalas (Now known as Dire-Maul) who was Mordent Evenshade, had a meeting with Tyrande to end their exile and finally reunite their peoples.
In light of Garrosh’s aggression on their lands, the elements in turmoil from the Cataclsym and other threats on the horizon — Tyrande wisely agreed.
- So the Night Elves having mages was moreso the Highborne uniting with their ranks and them allowing such to be practices once more in the first time since 10,000 years.
This decision had ultimately saved countless lives, as the Highborne portals managed to save innumerous lives when Teldrassil was set ablaze by the Horde.
Yeah I know, and I didn’t like it then. Little did I know lol…
I mean given the extent of Garrosh’s brutal push into their lands, deforestation & destruction of their homes — Taking the bargain to make a pact was a sacrifice that proved worth it, especially in the long run like I stated; given it ultimately proved to be more beneficial than harmful to their people.
Personally I would’ve loved if Mordent Evershade met with some of the Nightborne and had fangirl moments with someone they knew and had a besties-reunited moment with one of them (such as Oculeth) Sadly however, what we got instead was Tyrande being a b – … bad, bad person
Nah…I’d rather vulpera druids. I understand wanting a pretty race for druid on horde, but Blood elves already have access to 2 out of the 3 most popular classes in the game.
So do the humans, dwarves + dark-iron dwarves and the Zandalari
None of these are anywhere near as popular as blood elf though.
That’s a 100% dishonest statement — Humans are IMMENSELY popular … To suggest otherwise is just plain willful ignorance.
Although to provide benefit of the doubt, you would be more correct on the others though.
Blood elf is the most played race by a significant margin. Cmon now
