The weird thing is I get why it’s red, kael’thas’s default color in TFT and also the whole “must be red” just to reinforce hordeness (which I despise) but like half the NPCs in eversong are wearing green. Are spellbreakers iconic, sure, I guess, in a fashion, but this really was the height of the “rangers? nah send Liadrin again, the players aren’t sick of the blood knights enough yet” phase of belf rep
So humans and Kul’tiran are getting elf ear options but elves don’t get human options? Bah!
(also let the Worgen get the ears too… For fun.)
That’s the selling point. Blood Elves are no “neutral” Quel’dorei anymore. And personally, I wouldn’t want it any other way. Playing a Magister Warlock (MoP Remix class set + heritage + sin’dorei staff and green eyes) really fits the bill better.
People absolutely dislike this to hear but if you want to play the classic neutral/good version, you likely have to play the Subrace on the Void Elves for the thematic fit.
Thalassian Elves already have the “short ear”-version.
There was a datamined round ear option for the Thalassian model back during the alpha, along with the new pointed ear option the human-model Arathi use. I don’t think it was ever actually implemented though, as the few Arathi that use a Thalassian model in the live game use the shortest ear model already available to playable elves.
I don’t disagree, but it’s also not wrong to point out that the Sin’dorei ranger NPCs very often don’t wear red. Many of them wear green and gold, and the Ranger-General of Silvermoon wears blue currently. The Icon of Blood also features a decent amount of blue, and both the Blood Knight heritage armor and Lor’themar’s outfit feature blue gems to reflect that color scheme, so it’s not like blue is a forbidden color for the Sin’dorei to use, it’s just not their main one.
Personally, I think it makes sense that the Farstriders still use green so much since they’re meant to be able to blend in to their forest surroundings, and while I like the red variant that some of the NPCs wear, it definitely isn’t good for camouflage. I don’t mind that the heritage armor doesn’t really fit the Farstrider look though, since the Eagletalon Battlegear is so perfect for that theme. I just wish Halduron would get an outfit update.
maybe Blizz is holding back the round ear options for elves until Midnight?
Yet another elf spam echo chamber. Yay…
That’s possible.
Could also be they’re literally just not done with it I suppose.
This one is just Blood Elves discussing about the future for the sin’dorei.
How about beards? It seems easily to copy from Dracthyr
Beards would be fantastic!
Alongside tattoos for a farstrider look.
This was made, obviously, for void elves but I feel like the first ones there would well fit in for blood elves farstriders.
Felblood for Blood Elves needed.
The fact they Didn’t do Felblood when they did Eredar is irksome.
Felbloods and Runes are things from TBC that are big parts of the Blood Elf fantasy/lore that allude the players.
