Every time people derail these threads with whining that Alliance Thalassians dare ask for anything, I play one of my high elf alts in BGs until it levels.
It’s honestly become a highlight of my alt play.

Void elves are like the only allied race that got like any customization at all other than seperating beards/moustaches. And they got many new things at that. And still, like 2-3 months after the pre-patch, they are STILL complaining.
They literally tossed us skin-tones to stop the continual threads of people asking for what was originally asked for in the first place. The Alliance were given an Allied Race nobody asked for, that was a mockery of two requests overall. (High Elves and Ethereals.)
“They got stuff!”
They literally got a copy-pasted skin tone from another existing race. If they literally copied the same skin colours from Night Elf to Nightb- oh wait, Nightborne actually got custom models, Void Elves didn’t.
Get over it.
If not we’d still be having dozens of threads a week about High Elves, instead of discussion of what customization features people want. Something that only derails into a bunch of wank whenever it’s Void Elves because people can’t get over they’re actually popular.
Just admit you high elves wanna play a pretty human already…
Well, I got sick and tired of these threads popping up literally 3 times a day when pre-patch hit. Void elves got more stuff than some of the base races, let alone out of allied races. Get over it and stop crying. You got more than most did.
Take Worgen for example. We do not even have a full-black fur option. The only interesting thing we got was white fur and more customizable eyes. Other than a couple of hair styles (like, 3-4?) that are indistinguishable from the old ones, that’s about it.
High Elves do not belong to the Alliance. Blood Elves belong to the Horde.
The sect of High Elves who are Thalassian still, the Silver Covenant, are loosely affiliated with the Alliance, yes. But they do not ‘belong’ to them, and for that matter, there are not enough of them to be their own singular faction.
In addition to that, Void Elves are merely Void-corrupt Blood Elves–In essence, the original post about the Alliance “stealing a model” from the Horde is not incorrect whatsoever. The Alliance cried, and they complained, for years about not having a playable High Elvhen race, and they got one. And the second comment about it not being enough? Pretty apt, if I do say so myself.
The Void Elves are tainted, corrupted. Their hair reflects this. If you don’t like it, don’t play a Void Elf. If Blizzard Entertainment renegs on this, I might just have to look in to peaceful protesting measures myself because it’s honestly getting ridiculous at this point.
Horde leaders die left and right, Alliance leaders get buffed; Horde characters are mostly all bestial, Alliance characters are mostly all human-oid; Alliance cry and complain that they don’t have any bestial races, get it, cry and complain some more that Worgen aren’t enough and “aren’t up to their standards”; Alliance players cry that they aren’t getting enough lore attention, finally get it, then cry that it isn’t enough; Alliance players cry that they don’t have playable High Elves, finally get it, then cry that it doesn’t have enough customization to be a ‘true High Elf like we want’…
When will you stop crying and be satisfied? Seriously.
And if you want to get super technical about the allegiances of the Thalassian elves, that broke many decades ago and the renamed Thalassian High Elves, Blood Elves, ended up joining the Horde–Out of convenience, comraderie’s sake, and last resort efforts. The Alliance turned their back on them, after the High Elves left the humans to deal with the Scourge on their own. The High Elves didn’t “belong to the Alliance”.
(And I know it’s responding to that EU person, not you personally Kaedrelin. But it appears they monitor this thread, so…)
I’m a void elf and would gladly play a human if they didn’t look like mutated gorillas like pretty much every other MMORPG on the market right now.
Hate to be that guy, but at the time, they left the alliance at the time, when the last king of silvermoon got angry at Lordaeron for making camps for the orcs instead of executing them all, Same for gilneas which is why they were not part of the alliance atm as well
But yes i do agree with you on the rest of what you said.
only reason horde even got blood elf was because asian markets wanted a pretty race for horde so lets not get too high and mighty here pal. from the sounds of it you just want to keep it so you can hold it over void elf players heads like a 4 year old.
There is a difference between crying and asking for something, your sitting her crying because someone else might get your fancy hair while accusing others of crying.
We didn’t get high elf… we got a discount blood elf which nobody asked for. we want high elf not a lazily done reskin of blood elf.
now your just going off topic crying about your horde leaders dying off, tough luck princess get over it, when was the last time an alliance leader lead a genocide of an entire race?
High elf did NOT join horde, they are still very much aligned with alliance. I mean who do you think leads the void elves? its literally Alleria, a high elf.
Abandon humanity! EMBRACE MONKEY!
I’m not crying about anything, i’m being rational about the situation.
You wanted playable High Elves, you got it. I say “you” here generally-speaking, I don’t mean you.
You say you didn’t get a High Elf? But get this:
Void Elf = corrupt Thalassian Elf = Thalassian Elf, which is a High Elf, which is a Blood Elf = High Elf
Too much for you? Tl;dr: You got a High Elf.
What, because it doesn’t have blue eyes and blonde hair, it doesn’t count? What are we going for here, Aryans? Is that the only way it counts as being a High Elf, is that if they are “pure”? You realize how abundantly ignorant that sounds?
And no, I wasn’t going off-topic whatsoever. I was including a very short handful of the absolute whining that the Alliance players engage in en masse on a regular basis until they get what they want, finally, and then it turns out it’s not enough for them. This instance was no different: Blizzard Entertainment turned around after over 10 years of saying there will be no playable Alliance High Elves for the sake of Horde’s Blood Elven identity, and just because they are corrupted Blood Elves instead of the Silver Covenant you cry, you piss, moan and complain about it.
In all honesty, I like the Void Elven hair. It’s got a certain flare to it that’s missing from the very ordinary appearance of the Blood Elves. That being said, I am a Horde player.
And, again, let me reiterate:
Thalassian Elves = Void Elf, Blood Elf, High Elf (Silver Covenant).
So, yes, the High Elves did join the Horde, because the Blood Elves are literally just re-named High Elves that are honoring the fallen of Quel’thalas. They are not “very much aligned with the Alliance”, because the Blood Elves are Horde. The only Alliance-aligned High Elves right now are Void Elves, and the very loosely aligned Silver Covenant.
You CLEARLY are ignorant of lore and who is what, just like 95% of the rest of the whining High Elf alliance.
Idk what to say… you have no argument and what you say makes no sense…
As I have previously said, Velfs are Belfs… that is a fact and not an opinion. And Velfs can control the Void to look normal-ish, that is also a fact and not an opinion.
You’re wrong ^^
It’s not only the Silver Covenant …
The High elves in Quel’Danil Lodge… It is the larger of the two major concentrations of high elves in Lordaeron.
I like more customization – for every race, and let’s be honest, neither blood elves or void elves are in dire straits there (Nightborne and worgen are hurting, man, as well as gnomes and pandaren and a few others, and why the blazes Lightforged can’t get the long tails and monks I’ll never unders-- anyway, on topic).
I’d rather void elves get a few “high elf” customizations that are unique from blood elves. Ideally, they’d be ported from humans or kul’tirans. I’d also like to see some completely unique void options – namely, two toned hair in silly colors, all the tentacles, extra mouths, some constantly moving animations like mechagnomes, black eyes, ect…
For blood elves, I’d like to see some Dark Ranger looks, especially those that could overlap into our local vampire elves. Red eyes, ragged ears, ect. I’d also like a few felblood looks – horns, vestigal wings, ect. For purely personal reasons, I’d also like a bit of the wretched look. I would actually like a few of the tentacle-free hairdos ported over to the parent race – namely the pompadour, which I love, but also a few others.
They should give us void gnomes because I want to play as a gnome on the horde. How dare alliance prevent me from playing gnome on the horde. It’s so greedy and entitled.
Arthas did nothing wrong. His crusade was a secret mission to exterminate all belves. He knew what would happen, we didn’t listen. Now we reap the consequences.
If you think that’s a good one, know that there is an Anti-High Elves discord server.
That doesn’t matter at all
I dont think that was the reason, but I’m not sure. It doesnt matter since BEs have threads dedicated to them anyway and this is a VE thread.
Lol, that was just me mocking both the OP and the pro-high-elf-ers with their classic argument of “Alliance had high elves first.”
No offense taken though
I do agree with what you said, for the record.
