I have a number of my toons using the Wooly Wendigo Transmog that I got a few years back from BlizzCon. Every so often that outfit along with the Sprite Darters appearance disappear as transmog options leaving my toons appearing in a mishmash of gear.
It is frustrating that this continues to happen and equally frustrating that when the Wooly Wendigo appearance shows up as a transmog option that I have to hand over gold.
Now, the update!
The team believes they’ve identified what is causing this to occur and are now working on a permanent solution. That may still take some time, so I don’t have an ETA I can share right now but I did want to share progress on this since I know a lot of people are interested in it.

Holding your breath for a bug fix would probably be a bad idea, as those can take longer than the 2 minutes you can likely hold it…
If you mean you doubt it will be fixed, that is extremely unlikely. We’re aware of the issue and have every desire to fix it. It is an issue that is impacting folks who purchased these items after all. We just had trouble reproducing it, which in turn makes it extremely difficult to track down what may be causing it.
As Kalviery mentioned, we believe we found the cause, which is a huge step in allowing us to fix it. That isn’t a statement made lightly.
I get that. It’s just frustrating. I have 6 alts that get around in the Wendigo Woolies Transmog and if I’m having to spend 3-400 gold (a rough estimate) each time to restore their appearance then I’m down around about 2k in gold each time. Gold isn’t hard to come by I know that, but that also isn’t the point. All the other times this has happened I have let it go, or just been annoyed but shrugged my shoulders and moved on. This time I felt compelled to say something.
It’s one thing to not know about it being a bug, but to keep using a mog when it can disappear and reappear at any given moment? The waste is kind of on the player if they want to keep risking the use of the mog once they learn about the issue. Since this issue has been a known one since 9.1’s release back in June…just something to take into consideration.
True enough. But there’s risks in a lot of things we do. I could get hit by a car as I cross the street (even at a marked crossing). Should I stop crossing the street? The answer is no right? I’m not going to stop using the mogs because frankly my pandarens and vulpera look adorable in them and I get a lot of comments from other players. I just want it fixed that’s all 
I am having a similar problem. Purchased the “Celestial Observer” transmog from the shop and after the last update to the final battle with the Jailer it has disappeared. What I shows saved as this outfit at the transmogrifier is all jacked up and not what I chose. Tickets can’t be submitted due to an “error”. WTF! I remember back in the day…when you could submit a ticket to Blizz and they would interrupt you during the game to talk about it and actually provide customer service. God, I miss those days of good customer service.
There’s a issue with some text being blocked, but in your case this is a known issue. Submitting a ticket might only help for a short time. The license for these appearances are still attached to your account, but not working. As the blue post mentioned, the cause was hard to find, but now development is hopefully working on a long term fix.
