You’re the second person on the forums to say that today.
Yet you LITERALLY can’t play anything in solo “wrong.” I like having a pet in MM when I’m solo.
Can I do it without a pet, probably. But I don’t want to. And I don’t want to change my MM hunters to BM.

Why after 20 years does it need to change?

In fairness. Blizzards been trying since WOD to make this a thing. It never seems to work for them, but they have been trying.

You already have that, spec into lone wolf and dismiss your pet.

MM is punished too heavily in order to use its utility

See, it’s this logic that I don’t really get.
Blizzard chose to overtune Lone Wolf (by as much as 10% in the first few expansions!) and then use it to claim, “See, MM hunters don’t like their pets.”
Players have always min-maxed their characters in WoW.
So it’s just… strange to me to see people talking about MM being “punished” by pets on its own face, when it was Blizzard who did this…
…or maybe I’m just exhausted and need to sleep. Maybe it’ll make sense to me tomorrow.

Hate to point it out but having the hawk or whatever technically makes it a pet class

Search ipetitions for ‘let markmanship hunters keep pets’

Play lone wolf and then try to use lust. It’s pretty self explanatory.

Could just change specs/classes

it’s not a pet as they exist currently. more of a spell effect and most importantly does not get controlled, CC’d, or killed for a dps loss.

No one said anything about hating blizz because they’re not getting what they want.
But whatever.
It just looks like you’re shooting blanks.
They fully reworked Survival after 12 years, so what? Years mean nothing. That’s Appeal To Tradition Fallacy.

Until you need Lust, GW, Intimidation…

And people are still mad about that.
There’s no reason for MM to have this change.

So make lust baseline for hunters, and allow for MM to access intimidation if Lone Wolf is active
Again, there are solutions to this problem that don’t require “remove the whole pet”

And many more got over it. You will too. Or not.
Both people in this thread and Blizzard themselves gave you the reasons.

And they’re bad reasons that could be solved in ways that don’t anger off half the hunter community

And they’re bad reasons
So you agree reasons were given, we’re at least starting to get somewhere.
Good luck with your anger.
