If youre doing high end content and not using a pet then youre hurting yourself.
If you average 1 mil DPS then 5% is only a 50k bump. My pet does 70k on the dummy by itself. So you do more DPS with a wolf pet, and you get lust for the party.

Have you heard of tar trap… Binding shot… bursting shot…
If you actually learn to use the toolkit, it is no problem.
I am going to use that on 10 mobs as they are all attacking me and reducing my armor to zero? Go make a video of you doing that successfully.
You are getting hit? Lol. Circle around the tar trap. Disengage across if they get close. The number of mobs doesn’t matter. Explosive → multi → aimed into the trap. If they still get close binding. If they still get close bursting. Please learn to play.
show me - you don’t sound like you have a clue what that area is like and what those mobs do. How are you going to pull 10 using multi shot at once there?
Sounds to me like my way is very much superior and I am using the toolkit.
I’m not going to dance for you, if you can’t figure it out sucks to suck. You do realize you can multishot more than once? Lol.
lol, you would fail. You literally can’t do what I am doing without a pet. And if you are using multishot more than once you aren’t pulling 10 at a time are you?
Hahahha sure crybaby. Pulling 10 mobs is not hard. Well except it will be for you soon apparently. The rest of us who can actually play the game will have no problem.
Don’t work on some elites and rares.
Who are you addressing?
They still can grab them. Hope that helps!
so if the class tree is full of now worthless perks that buff the pet which MM Wont use…how are they gonna rebalance the class tree to reconcile with the fact that half of it is now outright useless to the MM hunter? Lmao.
How much of the class tree is going to be completely dead for MM next patch? I realize it’s probably suboptimal already because LW has been so overpowered you are practically forced to use it for years now, that’s why we have this problem at all, but now they’ll be completely 100% dead in all situations if you’re MM.
The difference is that GrimSac isn’t so OP that you’re punished for not using it. (AFAIK, I am not exactly an icyveins junkie). As a result, not even a troll in a murloc suit can claim that “nobody uses demons as Destro, just go Demo if you want demons”.
They shouldn’t, but that’s a consequence of Lone Wolf being overtuned that makes you feel like you’re weakening yourself by pulling out a pet. It should never have been encouraged by the game. At most, it should have been an option for the people who actively didn’t want pets (some do exist, although I doubt there are very many – most people use LW because it’s OP; usage rate of something that is OP does not reflect player preferences, a principle that I would love to staple to the wall at Blizzard if I could).
I don’t think you’d see this many complaints if the changes had been limited to “LW can now use lust and other utility without summoning a pet first”. Everyone would have loved that patch note. Even if LW was still so overtuned that people doing high-end content would still be forced into it!
But they had to also make the spec worse for people who do want to use their pet, either for tanking when not grouped with an actual tank, or just because they like pets (a lot of people who like pets play hunters, obviously, and now they’re going to have one less spec to enjoy). Just why? What does anyone gain from the removal of the MM-with-pet playstyle?
That’d require Oniana actually going out and trying these tactics instead of just saying they work.
Hasn’t the lonely whatever talent like always been bis for mm? It’s been awhile since I’ve played anything other than bm on my hunter so maybe I’m wrong but for a very long time it has been no pet for mm anyways.
Sorry I prefer to play my MM hunter wrong, then.
I love all the people coming out of the woodwork to say that using all the tools available to your class is “wrong”, as if there’s some arbitrary number of abilities that you have to ignore to be “right”. Good thing they’re here to clarify things for the rest of us.
Nothing is more triggering than hearing meta players speak candidly and pridefully that “we don’t take this talent”, or “we take x”. Pretty sad the talent tree “choice” they wanted to bring back to the game in Dragonflight actually ended up being an illusion— again.
They are literally talking about a 10 pack of crabs at the starting zone but go off queen. I’ve already mentioned swapping to BM for delves and certain world elites. Just like a warrior might change to tank spec for certain situations even if they main dps.
