@blizzmod Let's be Honest, Ve'nari's Refuge

The bottleneck that some factions, on some realms, have decided to exploit, has led to a complete void of experience for some players/factions on a lot of realms. This isn’t the first thread I’ve seen of this issue, this won’t be the last.

I’m a casual player, I’m not invested in engaging into this game daily because of my worklife. So, when I do log on, and want to engage in the game’s progression, I’m halted in places like The Maw, via Ve’Nari’s Refuge’s bottleneck issue. I’ve loved the story so far, and the expansion, btw.

There’s lots of issues with it. It’s grievously exploited, moreso then I have seen from other expansions. In a time when the game is on the fringe of being just some sideshow gig, or continuing a legacy.
There’s some player base that assume this is a simple click on and off of the Warmode feature, but it’s far more than that. Those are the sort of players gaining from this easy to access exploit, instead of dealing with it. They’ll lose nothing with a correction, you on the other hand may lose a lot.

Warmode feature is an application to make normal and rp servers feel suddenly pvp when they please, whereas pvp and rppvp servers have endured relentless world pvp without much issue for over a dozen years.

This is however, is absolutely revolting. Playing since Vanilla on all sorts of servers, I can’t recall such an atrocious setup for a very key area of story and expansion progress, as I have this area.

I’m firmly ready to cancel my subscription, which I’ll admit you’ve taken advantage of. I play maybe 3 days out of a week, yet pay for a full 30. I love the story, I love the game, I’ve indulged in your games since 99’, but I’m also moving into a part of my life where I can let go of it, if the game no longer serves my need to escape from a very frustrating and stressful world.

If players like myself have to enter a world, frustrating to progress in, instead of engaging-on top of the tumultuous world around our very real lives outside, then I at least am fine withdrawing my subscription.

Are you claiming you are unable to progress in the game because you won’t turn off WM?

For what advantageous reasons do you have WM turned on when you are being fully dominated? Are you hoping that you’ll come across single players while in the maw and fight an honorable 1v1 scenario?

You know that there’s a problem with how one faction is using the features of the game and fully choosing to rush into it head first. It sucks that they’re doing it, but if your argument is “they are being mean, and you won’t stop them” then your ability to weigh pros and cons is pretty bad.

turn off warmode. Then you can progress just fine. Don’t be mad when war happens in warmode :stuck_out_tongue: I turn it off for the maw everytime and then turn it back on.

if that’s how you feel, then i don’t believe you’ve played since vanilla on all sorts of servers.

when pvp servers were a thing, key areas were always heavily camped.

Southshore. Mmm, that place was so heavily camped.

You wanna talk about unable to progress? How about being level 25 trying to quest through your faction zones and not able to move forward because alliance wanted to have fun at your quest hub? Hope you like trekking to the other continent for a different zone!

Trying to tag or call Blizzard mods in your title is against the rules, by the way.

Omg

Just turn off warmode

turn that wm off or keep getting ganked :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the main issue is that a bottleneck is not necessarily healthy world pvp. It’s just an incentive to graveyard camp, because it exists, making the losing side always the losing side.

I’ve seen it, seen both factions do it, and it wouldn’t hurt for more graveyards to exist, or for the blocking of pvp of the graveyard to portal back to oribos.

Because, let’s be real here, the bottleneck at the graveyard is just asking to completely decimate one of the factions of in that shard.

Agreed. I had it on my hunter a long time but when time to kill bosses in icecrown it went off. Too many alliance.

It’s not a game issue when you have complete control over whether you’re subjected to it or not; it’s a you issue.

Turn off war mode, and you’ll be fine.

Suck it up and turn off war mode. We told Alliance that same thing for two years so don’t cry about it now that the tables are turned.

Perhaps OP doesn’t like playing their class without WM on, because it plays differently. I can speak for demo locks and say that PVP rotation plays a lot smoother than PVE, that however is not advantageous for me as I’m a raider and getting used to pvp rotations just to work in the open world better is not worth the frustration.

I don’t expect day to day players to understand how to run a company. This is a public statement being made, as I’ve seen plenty of players complain about it.

Yea, and there’s plenty of people who can’t weigh their options and make good choices. The loudest voice is most often the least popular opinion.

Anyone who knows customer service in any industry knows that you’re more likely to receive a complaint, rather than a compliment. And thats what happens in the forums, people come to complain, often without providing any real feedback.

You’re disappointed with a part of the game, we get that. But you already know the resolution, and unless you give an actual reason to keep WM on, most of the people here are just going to keep telling you to turn it off.

The only real issue I have with camping at Ve’nari’s it is that phasing hides the other players from you until you leave the sanctuary. You have no way of knowing if you’re about to walk right into a raid until it’s too late. It’s not the end of the world though, just annoying.

Lot of rude people in this thread.

I will just say to turn it off because it is what I did. After getting stunned for 14 seconds unable to play and the constant fights in the Maw, it seemed like the right choice.

I feel your pain, but just keep it off when going to the Maw. Terrible experience especially if you are a slow class.
