(Blizzcon) So what am I paying $200 for again?

First there was no pet/mount this year not following every blizzcon before it.

Then the music lineup is completely different from any previous year.

Now, literally, anybody gets to ask a question, its no longer exclusively for the people who paid to have their questions directly heard.

So whats the point? I see I picked the worst year to go for my first time where I justified a lot of the prices with perks.
Did you only want to go for the perks? Or did you actually want to be there?

Perks of paying $150 dollars more versus just using a virtual ticket.

For one weekend? Holy schnikes.

Versus watching it on any of 100 different you tube videos the following week for free.

Should I? As someone with autism the whole event is going to be more traumatic for me than beneficial. It's something I've wanted to do, but was hard to justify without additional "benefits". I also factored in consistent behaviors of expectation to understand what I was investing in as I incredibly dislike change.

I spend that on one evening out with the wife, my man. That’s just dinner and drinks.
If your only focus at BlizzCon -- a convention celebrating franchises of Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm -- is the Warcraft panels & the in-game goodies, why would you pay $200 for convention ticket + all the associated travel / board costs?

Go for the experience, enjoy all it has to offer.

Going only for 1 aspect, the majority of it something you'd actually get digitally and thus not required to be there in person, is pointless.

I live near by which was also a deciding factor.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that but don't take it out on others when personal issues interfere with your enjoyment of something.

Explain how I'm taking it out on others?

The point is that you get to attend a large convention devoted to a slew of games at least one of which you play. Who goes to the actual convention (with the cost not only of the ticket, but transportation, lodging, meals, etc.) just for the in-game WoW goodies?

(Not that I'd be likely to go, even if someone paid me. Aside from anything else, my "friend" Mr Agoraphobia would not be manageable in that kind of situation.)

If you have enough income $200 isn't much at all for a once a year event.

Some people spend like $1000 just on their cosplay.
Pretty sure you’re paying to play a 2 hour demo of a fourteen year old game and a thirty minute set from a 25 year old band that was bad even back then.
Money aside,

Im going to see people Ive never met in person.

The music, in game perks, and news are all things I could get elsewhere. Its a package.
Should’ve thought about that before confirming the transaction.
Honestly you'd probably enjoy it more if you just bought the virtual ticket and watched it at home. After attending in person a few times a group of friends and I have gone the virtual ticket route for a number of years. It's more pleasant to hang out, enjoy a cigar, and still be playing WoW while watching the con events.

This year's virtual ticket comes with the WoW Classic demo, so we get to enjoy that without having to go to the convention center. We can also order convention merchandise from the on line store.

At a quarter of the price I'd say the virtual ticket is the better deal.

You are acting like Blizzard is screwing you with this year's Blizzcon because the perks don't make you want to overcome your personal issues.
