(Blizzcon) So what am I paying $200 for again?

So you don't actually care about being there?
You get to say wildly inappropriate things to Felicia Day in person.

Should I? As someone with autism the whole event is going to be more traumatic for me than beneficial. It's something I've wanted to do, but was hard to justify without additional "benefits". I also factored in consistent behaviors of expectation to understand what I was investing in as I incredibly dislike change.

So. you will put up with an event that's traumatic to you if you get a virtual pet? OK.
First there was no pet/mount this year not following every blizzcon before it.

Then the music lineup is completely different from any previous year.

Now, literally, anybody gets to ask a question, its no longer exclusively for the people who paid to have their questions directly heard.

So whats the point? I see I picked the worst year to go for my first time where I justified a lot of the prices with perks.

Last I checked, we've only EVER had 2 mounts associated with the virtual ticket.

If you go to blizzcon for the digital goodies you are whats wrong with society.
People should read the OP’s name.

Trollolol
I have been three times at Blizzcon and I have to say It changed a lot. It used to be about the games and tha fans. My first Blizzcon there was tons of panels abot WoW Lore, WoW raids, wow voices, wow future. Now Blizzcon is about e-sports. There is a small area for the fans and games the panels are short and not very fun. There are less side activities and too much about competitive. It is bigger just to acommodate bigger arenas.

it is not what it used to be.

sorry for my english
...

Explain how I'm taking it out on others?

You are acting like Blizzard is screwing you with this year's Blizzcon because the perks don't make you want to overcome your personal issues.

How is that me taking it out on somebody else? I'm pointing out a huge consistency flaw and with how they're approaching Blizzcon, it seems I got the short straw on some experimental notion they're trying to push. Thankfully I don't have to go to any more after this. And that is fine. Still doesn't mean I won't make comment on how they're approaching it.

If you want to fixate only on a portion of a text, you are what is wrong with society.
You go to be surrounded by people with similar interests. If you don't have any friends to go with and/or are uninterested in making new ones there, then it probably isn't worth it for you.
Good lord, get a refund my friend. You should only pay $200 if you actually want to be in that crowded hall. You're paying for the experience of being there live, not for the content (which will more or less be free to anyone).
Mounts and Pets aren't everything.

Go to Blizzcon for Blizzcon, forget the "perks".

I spend that on one evening out with the wife, my man. That’s just dinner and drinks.

Holy Hillary, you don't get it, do you? (and I voted for her, too) lol

That’s unfortunate. Sorry for your loss.

C'mon man try harder and maybe do some fact checking before you spew?
They've only given a mount away twice... and the time previous to last year was years ago.

And by the way??? Shouldn't everybody have a voice as far as questions? Not just those that have more money to spend??

Quite possibly the most baseless and pointless complaint thread I've ever seen. Get a grip.
OP, I'm sorry you feel disappointed in the "perks" being offered. As some have pointed out, the purpose of going to Blizzcon--or any con--in person is to meet other people who have the same interests as you.

The people attending Blizzcon are all players of one or more of Blizzard's games. They're not just random folks off the street. You don't have to be shy or embarrassed by your gaming hobby, or wonder what you have in common with anyone there. We're all "gamers"; we (on these forums) all play WoW; we all have something in common even if every other part of our lives differ.

I kind of wish these forums would focus more on our commonality than our differences, to be honest, but that's a subject for a different thread.

Go to Blizzcon, OP. Meet people. Have fun.

No? It's Blizzcon, a place for blizz attendees to ask questions? The numerous Q&As throughout the year would be what you're thinking of?
Then don't go and sell your tickets?

Maybe it's because I'm autistic, but I've never felt shame for my passion. Going to Blizzcon was a calculated choice, I can't put an emotional factor on experiences I cant attribute value to.

I factored in the price of a concert, perks, ability to potentially ask a question (assuming first in line, had a slew of questions to pull from), potential D4 announcement (which they hinted at with "numerous projects" then had to back down couple weeks before Blizzcon), the fact that I live nearby. With all of these factored in I went "Ok, $200 seems worth it" now? It's a crap shoot based on this "emotional" thing that you value.
Just use this opportunity to hook up with a cosplayed 5 who will no doubt be drunk by 7pm.

$200

For one weekend? Holy schnikes.

No I get it, it's just...

Well when I was in Korea, a buddy of mine did his two week R & R in the Philippines. There he hired a woman to cook, clean, and do other "things" for him.

I think $200 was about the cost.
As someone who has gone before and going again this year, there is something magical about meeting up with your online friends. Blizzcon might not start until friday, but when people start arriving and meeting up with friends, going to dinner, etc, it feels like blizzcon starts on Wednesday.

There are also parties thursday. You get your tickets thursday too. There's just so much more than "watch a panel and get some digital and irl goodies via the goodie bag".
Sure you can watch it all on the ticket, but being there is an experience that until you go you won't be able to put the value on.

Someone hasn’t had fun on a gun range.

$200 for a weekend means you get there at 9 am Saturday morning and are packing to go home by 11 am the same day.
