Last year was the first time it was changed, even though there was no real reason for a price gouge.
The good news is that if you still INSIST on being taken to the cleaners for a fake, digital item… then just wait until Blizzcon it over. They will put the VT on sale for the $40 is SHOULD BE IN THE FIRST PLACE, since you can still watch the panels and such for 6 months, you just can’t watch them live (which is the assumption for what you’re paying for).
But all of the VT items are still included.
I still don’t think it’s worth $40, but I see no reason to get price gouged in the first place.

It’s a 25% increase. That’s a price gouge by any rational standard.
5-10% is a modest “cost of business” increase.
25% is the DEFINITION of gouging.

yeah welcome to the community, there have been people saying its 150$ cause they hear that number then spread it about without realizing its 150 brazilian dollars.
