Lol I like the transmog actually, I could totally see myself running wild in it being really funny looking.
what accurate info? “Price gouging is 25%” not true at all, nor is increasing an events cost price gouging.
you can tell when you are a sad person when you aqquivilate a term that is used correctly on “People are in hurricane zone, stores price gouge things to double or triple the price to make money off people prepping” to “company increases tickets to their convention by 25% this is unacceptable price gouging!”
From Australia. Which is not Canada. Incredible, I know.
This might be the first time I’m more interested in the content of Blizzcon over the rewards… on the fence about it this year.
i would love a screenshot, cause that is not how money works buddy.
money does not drasticly increase in price in one place but then plummit in another.
i mean purchasing goods, thats like saying “I went to buy a blizzard game for 60$ in america, and went to buy a steam game for 70$ in america. But then i got home to auzzie and a blizzard game costs 100$ but the steam game cost 30$”
yes currencies mean a change of price, something that costs 10$ in america will cost 100$ somewhere else, but something costing 100$ in america but costing 15$ in the other place makes literally no sense.
Damn I really want those Overwatch skins.
It is how money works. You’re comparing AUS$ to US$. Even though both are called the “dollar”, we are still talking about Australian currency vs. US currency.
Everything in Australia costs more than the US (e.g. something that’s $5 US is $7 AUS)… now someone with better understanding of economics can explain if that’s because the AUS$ is stronger than the US$ or if the AUS$ is weaker than the US$.
again dude, that is not the issue, i know how money works, i know it will go up my dude, go up and read though, they are saying the price of AAA games goes down, and the price of the virtual ticket goes up.
1$ us may be 1.50$ aus for example, so something that costs 10$ would cost 15$ aus, and something that costs 20$ would cost 30$ aus, they are saying “That one thing costs 40$ then costs 70, but the other thing that costs 60$ costs 68” that is impropper scaling.
example
AAA game here, 80$
virtual ticket 65$
the person is saying
AAA game there 68$
virtual ticket 70$
see the problem?
Prices for different things vary in different markets. It’s not a difficult concept.
Blizzard prices their digital stuff roughly as a conversion from US dollars.
BUT other game products sold here are priced for the market they sell in. Hence the $68 “AAA” new release games, because the market here has decided that’s the magic number. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes it’s less, but it’s not a simple currency conversion from US pricing.
that is NOT how the market of digital goods works but ok whatever.
Yes, actually, it is. Regional pricing is very much a thing, and it isn’t as simple as “everything costs more outside America”.
That’s my assumption… since this is a pure digital product they set a standard price and then do a currency conversion equivalent for other countries.
Since games have a physical form, the digital price has to match the brick and mortar price (generally). Most publishers have studios/production in AUS so costs can be set relative to AUS economy rather than a flat conversion from US to AUS.
By now most of us realize you sell these things for the digital content they come with. Because after last few years, the virtual content at the con and the coverage, and times some of the content finally got uploaded after it had already gone live days before, did not sit well with the price increase.
Let’s hope you finally learned your lesson. Also, to any blizz game pro leagues out there, enjoy your championships, cause they’ll probably fire you next year. looks at hots
And here I thought tickets being 3 weeks late compared to last year meant they’re doing something special.
Yeti jammies? Come on.
At least Overwatch people put some effort in.
Your assumption is correct
I’m actually glad rewards are meh, I’m already throwing 160$ or however much it’ll be for RAF transmog, at least I don’t have to buy this as well.
Are the windigo woolies gonna be event locked for blizzcon event only? or can be used year round?
I’d pay $1500 to egg them
The murlocs are cute. Do they come with their own little pets too? (the picture is a bit confusing) The onesies transmog is a bit scary. I would have rather had the transmog from the RAF personally.
EDIT: The HotS mount is pretty cool looking too.
wow pet = 5$
wow transmog= 10$
Overwatch skin x2= 15 $
Hots mount= 5 $
Starcraft scrap= 5$
Hearthstone scrap=5$
Diablo scrap= 5 $
Total= 50$
I would like to be discounted about Starcraft, Diablo and Hearthstone. I’m not interested in those gifts.
