They’re bad at everything except for figuring out ways to fleece their customers.
The reality is Blizzard is just a bad company. It’s a shame, but it’s true.
Blizzard is big enough that they can ignore their community on the basis that they have.
So long as they can produce results by making games that sell than the suits don’t care what relationship between developer and player is.
The buck however ultimately stops with us as the consumer. Though if you want to really shake the pillars then you’d need to uproot every community across every IP that they have running a profit.
But that kind of coordinated response on the consumers behalf is just wishful thinking at this stage.
Nah, Old School Runescape does this and I’ve never seen people complain that they don’t commucate with the playerbase.
Their communication is TERRIBLE.

sorry, the CMs are busy responding to threads about ret paladins and linking youtube videos of gnomes.
also, to those claiming CMs are absent because of toxicity - the unchecked toxicity is allowed to fester in large part because of the complete lack of blue interaction and moderation. Hot button issues are allowed to fester and snowball through sheer neglect on blizzard’s part.
Comments and posts that would have lasted an hour max and ended in a forum vacation with the blizzard of old are left untouched for days, imploding into toxic drama bombs left and right and left completely unchecked. Automated flag systems are used as a replacement for actual moderation.
Runescape devs have it waaay worse, and they don’t ban for 1/10 of what you would get banned by blizzard for. Yet they have weekly twitch stream Question and Answers.
When can you ever remember blizzard not treating their customers like crap? Pettiness and arrogance are literally their MO when it comes to customer complaints. In fact they banned me for a thousand years at one point for complaining about retail lol.
