Dedicated to creating the most epic entertainment experiences… ever. Blizzard Entertainment’s eight core values represent the principles and beliefs that have guided our company throughout the years. These values are reflected in employees’ decisions and actions every day.
Gameplay First
Everything we do at Blizzard Entertainment is based on the success of the gaming experiences we provide our players. The goal of each discipline within the company – be it art, programming or customer support – is to make our games as fun as possible for as many people as we can reach.
Hi Blizzard, just a reminder because you seem to have forgotten the first core value of your company. The introduction of TBC Classic boost is at direct odds with “Gameplay First”. A level boost clashes with the spirit of what Classic WoW is supposed to be.
Should your core values have changed considerably, would you be so kind to update your website?
Hey, Doc. You’d better back up, we don’t have enough integrity left in Blizz!
In all seriousness, if the (non-gaming) company I’m working for did not stay true to its core values (because of leadership changes) our customers would roast our asses and drop us in a second.
But I guess players (customers) are not what Blizzard is worried about, but shareholders. So the math checks out. I just think they should update their website and remove “Gameplay First”.
No corporation gives a hoot about their core values. Its all window dressing/complete nonsense/corporate jargon from one company to the next. Accountants/Engineers/Corporate executives all sit around and laugh at core values because they know how empty and meaningless they are. The only exception to that I ever experienced as an engineer was when I worked for a public utility.
The only core value they have is how to make boatloads of money and forget about anything else inbetween. (This is actually the real meaning behind the phrase “the customer is always right”) basically if the customer spends money on it, then it was the right business decision.
