So this entire launch has been a debacle… i resub to reserve my name 2 weeks before launch. upon hearing news that queue times will be in the tens of thousands, i do my part for the community and convince 15 of my friends to switch to the new server that was added, stalagg. the name i reserved on herod the week prior has been taken, so i lose it. queue times are STILL over 20k initially. at this point in my first month subscription the first two week aren’t even playable and i lost the name i reserved because we had to switch servers. i have been waiting in queue for more time than i have been able to play. the servers arent even working today. contact customer support and they say but you have playtime on your account so we cant refund you anything. not even a partial refund or game credit. I have read several posts from blizzard admins stating that a classic subscription will be treated the same as it was before. well before when this happened refunds were issued. on individual basis and several instances blizzard credited EVERY PERSON game time for the SAME ISSUES we are having now. not to mention the loss of a name. Who do we have to talk to in order to have this issue addressed? i talked to customer support and Senior Game Master Daemhun, said they CANNOT HANDLE IT ON THEIR LEVEL. who must we contact for this to be addressed?

Took the words right out of my mouth. My goodness, you can almost hear the foot stomp and arms crossing. :woman_facepalming:t4:

But on the topic: I also had my character name reserved on Herod, I also moved to Stalagg with my friends when Blizzard suggested (and also lost my reserved name), but instead of pouting about the high queue times and demanding Blizzard compensate me for something we all knew/expected would happen when Classic was released I found a nice med pop server to play on and haven’t seen a queue time since the day after release. The only reason you have “lost play time” is because you chose to stay on that full server instead of finding another solution. You don’t get compensated for your poor decision making.

i cant say the name removed?

server issues today are due to a ddos and not within blizzard’s control. they don’t reimburse for that.

as far as queue’s at other times - blizzard i don’t think has ever reimbursed because of queues, either. especially when other lower pop servers were available. perhaps not available right away in this case, but within a couple days.

i get that queues and having to move servers once, and maybe needing to again, caused you some issues. but it doesn’t rise to the level where they’re going to reimburse your sub because of it. especially because you’ve almost been subbed for this entire month at this point. if the release didn’t meet your expectations your best option is just to unsub imo.

my poor planning is with a group of 15 people. and it has been a huge inconvenience for everyone, not just myself. yes i fully believe compensation is reasonable. as stated before… they compensated everyone for the exact same thing previously and now they just tell you to kick rocks?

They only did that when it gone on for DAYS at a time. And they’re only do it when no one in is able to play at all. You trying to get 15 people to play with you on a few servers on the day of the release isn’t a Blizz issue, they’re not going to give you game time for it.

As for your names, that’s technically no one’s fault but your own. Just like you were in two weeks prior to reserve names on your server, so we’re other people on their servers.

Priority goes to those who were there first.

And, no. Personally identifiable information is not allowed on the forums. I invite you to research “doxxing.”

You act like you’re the only person who came back for Classic with a large group of people. A fairly large number of people from my old BC guild came back specifically for Classic and we’ve been discussing and coordinating where we’re going to play and who’s leveling what class since a few months before Classic was even released. We all also got together on the release day and discussed whether we wanted to stay on Stalagg or move to one of the other new servers opening up. As a group we decided to move again since none of us have nearly as much time to play anymore, so we definitely didn’t have the time to waste sitting around in queue for hours. That’s what adults do, they find solutions to their problems instead of just complaining about it. And again, you aren’t going to be compensated for your choice to stay on that server. If all servers were down and completely unplayable for several days, then yes they would consider giving players a few days of game time credit to compensate for that time lost (as they’ve done in the past). But this is not that type of situation. There are dozens of other servers without a queue that you can play on, it’s not Blizzard’s fault you didn’t want to play there so why on earth should they do anything for you?

welcome to classic wow

I do not act like i am the only one who came back with a large group. as i stated before “and it has been a huge inconvenience for everyone, not just myself. yes i fully believe compensation is reasonable.” and i’m sorry to burst your bubble, but they have also issued compensation for server specific cases instead of compensating realms that weren’t having issues. we pay for a service, the service isnt usable. what do you not understand?

the only times they’ve given compensation in the past is for when servers were down. inaccessible. to my memory anyway. barring today’s ddos, the servers haven’t been down at all, they’ve just had queues. they’ve never compensated for queues.

i have several screenshots showing the servers offline. currently stalagg is still offline. login screen showing “no servers currently available” ect… im glad it isn’t affecting you. but those that are should be compensated.

Seriously, the amount of entitled whining in your post is staggering. Here…try and understand this:

The servers being offline are the result of a jerk DDOS’ing Blizz Servers. They’re working on fixing it, and it’s a convenience to everyone (including the employees whose weekends are ruined). Step off your entitled soapbox.

Unless those servers have been unstable for a week, I doubt you’ll be able to get some compensation .

It has been an inconvenience for a lot of people, yes. But a “huge” inconvenience? No. A huge inconvenience would be “I spent days/weeks leveling up to 60 and now suddenly there’s an issue with my server”. Not being able to get on a server that you’ve rarely been able to play on yet is not a huge inconvenience. And while others have been inconvenienced just as much as you have, you’re the only one demanding compensation for it - that’s the part that’s absurd, the compensation. That is not going to happen. Period. The only one living in a bubble here is you, my dude.

And even that’s a stretch. :stuck_out_tongue:

i have recieved 1 day playtime as compensation on numerous occasions. how is this any different?

And the servers are only down right now because they’ve been getting DDoS attacked since late last night. That is in no way shape or form Blizzard’s fault, you’re not getting compensation for that either. :woman_facepalming:t4:
