Blizzard you missed a golden opportunity

This was your chance to Fix all the things that Failed in Cata that earned it the reputation as the beginning of the end for WOW.
First off you completely Skipped the Pre-Patch Event. No Cultist, No Elementals to farm for Gear. No slowly watching the world be destroyed by Deathwing. Why? All we got was the old cinematic, the races, and the new Talents and abilities. No Event at all.

I’m here to ask you to please take your time with the full release. Make sure its all working. We don’t need it to be a buggy mess like this Pre-Patch.

Pandaria is coming next and we all know it. Please take the time to get it right.

After that you will come face to face with WOD. The most hated expansion in wow history.
You have several years to fix it before it happens. Put all the cut content back into it. Fix all its shortcoming and make it better this time around. It would be so cool to see Proper changes made to make it a good expansion and a chance to redeem it in wow’s history. Its probably to late for Cata to be fixed but you do have time for WOD. Put a team on the changes, pull out the old data and finish the expansion in full this time. Your players will flock to it if its new and fixed.

Just My .02 Hope it turns out to be food for thought.

MoP is also just coming to go. It’s not like Classic progression is about arriving at a destination. Enjoy the ride… or don’t.

I mean, this prepatch is a complete embarassment and Blizzard should be ashamed of rushing it like they did. “Enjoy the ride” is not a valid excuse for such a sorry prepatch state, and OP has every right to criticize this for being so rushed.

As I said in another thread, after hearing them talk about it at Blizzcon I thought Cata actually might not be that bad if they fixed the issues that made people start bailing on the game. Sadly its starting to look like it may be in worse shape heading into it than the original was.

So you are saying the pre-patch event failed in the OG Cata, but since they didn’t put it in this version they failed again – not sure how that logic goes.

I would say that how people handle things when they aren’t going well, like failures, says a lot about their character. It is unavoidable to in life to not make mistakes, or to not fail at some of the things we try.

I’m happy that things are better today than they were at launch, and that it seems to continue to get that way.

For sure, I too was disappointed with the state of prepatch at launch, especially with a PTR and Beta, even, but I’m hopeful.

Perhaps you either didn’t read what I stated or just don’t understand. I’m stating that MoP is not a destination. If you’re playing classic with the mindset that any part of it is just “some other expansion’s” waiting room, I’d be quite surprised if you’re not setting yourself up for disappointment.

So, you can enjoy the ride, or don’t enjoy the ride, but either way, there’s no destination… it’s just a ride.

It seems with each passing day the logic of the anti-Cata crowd unravels further and further

I’m curious how much longer we have before Godwin’s law is invoked

They are grasping at straws, but Cata is coming, no matter how many tantrums, rolling alts, or toxic nonsense they spew. It is entertaining while I have had zero issues in game thus far.

All of this could’ve been avoided. There was no real reason to rush it like this, and many of the bugs were reported on day 1 of Cataclysm beta. This sounds like a excuse you are trying to make for Blizzard, and it’s embarassing. Just stop.

Yeah, after several days of people getting deathless raid achievements they did not really earn because they were buggy and not tracking raid members deaths, as well as the fact said achievements were meant to be gone with prepatch.

Or the fact ret paladins could melt bosses in seconds due to the seals interactions with putricide’s trinket. Or the fact professions were broken and needed the use of scripts because you couldn’t do anything with them in the UI. Or the fact people could level in WSG 1-80 in two matches, among too many bugs.

At this point, Blizzard doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I understood what you said, but it also felt like you were making excuses for this sorry prepatch at the same time. If that wasn’t the case, i apologize. But if it was, i don’t take what i said back. And my point still stands.

If that’s how you feel, that’s how you feel! I was pretty bummed about it for the first few days. I’m just trying to have fun, and making the best I can out of it.

All I wanna do is queue arena skirmishes, and I can’t do that, so that sucks, imo. But I’ve opened a bug report and posted about that in a few other posts. Now I either play and enjoy myself or I do something else, I guess.

Anyway though man, yeah… I hear ya. It was a rough start. Hopefully things pick up and get better, because there is literally no other version of the game to queue arenas and do GDKPs.

Cataclysm is here now. I don’t know why people keep talking as if it’s not.

I can believe this ONLY because by the time shadowlands rolled in there werent enough people left in the game to hate it. Otherwise, as bad as WoD was its nowhere near the bloated mess of Shadowlands.

its already a buggy mess, if you get the cata boost pack and use it to boot a toon that already had professions it makes them 0/0, you cant level them and you cant unlearn them thus you brick your char

i was honestly very disappointed they didn’t do the WoW prepatch event at least then they could have added some more time to fix the issues we are dealing with now. I do hope they do other pre-patch events in the future. The idea of classic if to experience the game as it was back then. Relive the game for vets and try the game out if your new. I enjoyed the WOTLK event despite it being a troll fest.

I loled.
Dude is acting like more people actually play classic.

People like you have no brain cells and so stuck on your own bias… it’s kind of embarrassing.

I am disappointed the they skipped the pre-patch event.

BfA and Shadowlands largely seem to be viewed more negatively. And rightly so imo.

That said I’d love them to do WoD right this time. They won’t though, same as they didn’t with Cata. The survey was pointless, we should’ve been able to level from 1-80 in the old world, skipping the weird jump back in time to TBC and Wrath at 60. Archaeology should’ve had all the improvements it’s had on retail. We should’ve gotten the pre-patch event and modern Auction House that was promised. But Cata’s just a lazy cashgrab, they don’t think the name can be rehabilitated.

You misspelled Shadowlands.

WoD does not come even NEAR how bad shadowlands was

Such an absolute disgrace of a re-release product with the pre patch is even more proof they should have just stopped with WOTLK, a virtually small minority of players old and new wanted Cataclysm and the majority said “We know what we wanted from a Classic experience and it’s not CATA”. We knew we wanted the original Trilogy. They could have just kept a persistent TBC Era, and a persistent WotLK Era and condensed realms.

Not much to be expected from the ever vigilant kings of 1 step forward, 2 steps back, thinking Blizzard is great at.
