I cant but sigh when I read a wall of text of how you are going to
" curb the extreme bad luck that players may experience."
All we need is
- Higher baseline drop rates for items in raids and m+
- Higher rates for conq rewards and valor points
- Uncapped Conq and Valor Points
Thats it, see how easy it was

I really like the idea of gear vendors and being able to target gear that I want, but we should be able to earn a coin every week of season 4. Being able to target a single piece of loot per character once a week isn’t a big ask here.

No matter what they eventually do they can’t let go of the idea that they need us to be perpetually tied to the hamster wheel.
It’ll always be convoluted and inconvenient.

Isn’t the slow process an idea of such games?
Where is the reward when you make it fast and easy?
I don’t get this mentality.

They know what players want. Players want something that’s pretty simple to implement. They don’t want players to have what they want. They go to great lengths to create bandaid fixes that are incredibly complex in design and coding, involve interactions between different systems, and hardly anybody will get much use out of.
Do you enjoy the sort of “reward” that it took you an entire patch to earn, and by the time you finally get it it is obsolete?

Hear me out when loot drops you get the gear based on luck and rng and percentage drop rate that is all nothing should be different
One piece of gear a week isn’t fast and when you have to raid to earn the currency the difficulty is exactly the same.
What I don’t enjoy is doing the same content over and over to yet again not get my bis. I have killed the jailor every week he has been available and have never looted a single thing from him lol. So fun!

I think if they simplified the reward systems, several devs would be out of a job.

That works in games with more horizontal progression where that item lasts you a long time, not in treadmill games like this where your gear turns to
in 3 months, which is when you actually finally got the drop.

So after you no life the game for a couple of weeks you would be back here screaming about nothing to do and content drought.
If they don’t pace the acquisition of power to their (very slow) ability to produce content people don’t stay subbed. They know this from experience.
They did all the things you are asking for early in the game and the results are as I’ve described in the first paragraph.

9.1.5 was the best patch in shadowlands purely because of uncapped conq and valor points and I dont think im the only one who thinks this

Gear should be
Predictable
Targetable
Efficient
Alt friendly after 2 months
That’s all you need to do blizz

If they don’t create content, they might not have the subs anyway. It’s worth mentioning I know people who have left due to ridiculously low drop rates resulting in a feeling of being unrewarded for time spent.
I argue if they’re not creating content, they don’t deserve constant subs.

I miss gear vendors that gave valid upgrades for each tier of the expansion? Granted I started in Cata where you had dungeons that would drop better gear, and vendor items that would be a bit bettr- then raids being the best, but I miss those days. It was a great way to do harder dungeons without having to find a Mythic+ Group or use a guild, and I don’t always want to raid.

Here’s a wild take.
Just ignore those people. Why should content consumption rates be set by the highest paced players who happened to be born lucky in certain countries with social welfare and more conducive environment to play games 16-20 hours day for years on end?
Just let them be done and stop hobbling everyone limited by time already.

I don’t know, I like the sounds of the raid changes they are making. It is about time they do something to make it work better than it has.
This is part of the point. I think no matter how fast they produce content there will be gating.
However the pace of content is one of the reasons subs have been heading down.

Over-complicating is sort of their thing.
They have the option of fixing their broken internal management system so they can start to turn out real content again, instead of jumping puzzles that they subcontracted out so some foreign sweatshop.

9.1.5 came out 4 months after 9.1, so if they follow a similar timeframe we are looking at late June for uncapped valor/conquest.
