Blizzard, you are just overcomplicating it when talking about rewards

Maybe they can make Jousting dailies!!!

Part of the problem I believe lies with the latter half of that sentence. Is it really necessary to have total ilvl turnover every patch? What if some gear could hang around and remain relevant for multiple patches? Older expansions had this, both through exceptional items and through less of an ilvl gap between tiers, making it much less of problem to sub in missing slots with previous tier gear.

(Note that I’m talking about bog standard purples, not Legion or SL-style legendaries or other similar gimmicks)

Not being blessed by the RNGods doesn’t sting as badly when you still have a patch or two’s worth of use when you finally get the item in question.

I don’t think it should be fast or easy, but I also don’t like the idea of a cap you can earn each week.

Gear comes and goes, We ditch gear so often in a MMO of this type that I don’t understand why it should be gated. If a player wants to put long hours in and get all the gear fast let them. If a person wants to do it slower but still ends up with it. Go for it. Or if someone picks to get it done on a weekend. Good!

This is a problem with wow. Blizzard needs to find more to keep players playing than just gear. This is one of the main points of burn out. Gear that is a super grind to get, just to get tossed away in the next update patch.

But then you wouldn’t be dependent on having to run every boss on every difficulty every week for your pittance of determinism.

They really do like to keep players rolling the dice.

Drop rates are about half of what makes sense, and what we have had in the past.

Making valor not have a cap would make this game pretty boring and easy. Some people just have no patience for getting gear

Also mythic+ gearing is the best it has ever been. You give people an inch and they want a mile.

Not just raids and dungeons either, some of the open world values on rares and stuff could also use a look over, nothing should ever be under 1% drop chance minimum. 1% statistically speaking is practically nothing, less than one percent may as well be less than nothing.

Really though? A higher drop chance is still not a 100% drop chance. You’re still going to get plenty of people who have bad luck and feel unrewarded for their time. So this might reduce the frequency of the issue occurring but it doesn’t really solve it.

Patterns and mounts that are 1 in 25k drops.

The monkeys paw closes another finger

What I love about how the WoW RNG algorithm is rigged and operated, is that that 1 in 25,000 drop chance doesn’t mean you have a chance of getting it once in every 25k runs/drops… it means you have a reset 1 in 25,000 chance on EACH drop in those 25k runs XD.

Also, remove the Great Vault of Delay.

Blizzard we know you’re always controlling overall gear progression. We know you’re only decreasing the Boss drop rates to give us the gear later in the Great Vault of Delay. Giving out loot a week later is boring and it creates the feeling that you’re trying to play us!

Just give us the gear when we’re hyped up from the achievement of killing the boss. It’s much more rewarding!

That’s how probability works. Any statistics book says that.

Why not keep it simple and do what they’ve done in the past. Place a raid vendor where people can purchase gear with valor points. There done.

I would be perfectly fine with that too, that’s even better.

i think what scares blizzard about increasing rewards is that they think once a player attains everything and becomes “geared out” they will quit. what really happens is the opposite. we dont get nothing week after week and get sick of same old same old and quit.

if gear dropped more frequently and your toon becomes “geared out” more often than not said player will move to an alt. then another alt then another alt then another alt. and before you know it new patch.

by increasing gear drops they will not only extend the life of players subs but they will create more immersion, more groups, more everything. players want gear. that is the end game. and when you can deck out your main and move from alt to alt there is nothing more fun than that.
