I can see the Blizzard’s reasoning behind not implementing RDF tool. It’s very short-sighted & poor, and out right dull reasoning, but that’s the best one they’ve got.
My main issue with current version of Wrath LFG is the lack of control over my group.
As tank, I will “list” UK as tank, so I need healer & Dps.
When someone “applies”, I will get an annoying pop up suggest invite.
Invite whom? What class? Spec? Level? What role?
Applicants can only apply to 1 group at a time.
I can only accept/review only 1 person at a time.
What if I just need healer, but next 10 applicants are DPS w/ 11th being the healer that I need? So I will either get 11 whispers, or I need to kick every 5th person 1 by 1.
So, now, we’re going back whispers. And at this point, why even bother with the LFG tool, when BulletinBoard addon will actually perform exact same tasks, but better?
Not to mention LFG tool only shows within level range dungeons, meanwhile, BB allows me run Steamvault on my 65 Resto druid.
That does sound hilariously bad. I too was also expecting a copy of the retail LFG, probably without the iLvl info box of filters.
Does anyone know of a youtube video where someone is looking through the tool? I’ve only seen people be like “well there’s only like 30 people online and no one is using the tool right now, so I can’t really demonstrate it”
Do the players even have any evidence that Brian Birmingham has any experience running any instance(s) at all, other than the fabled ’SO LIKE WHO BE TANKING THIS WAILING CAVERNS RUN’ anecdote that serves as the baseline for this entire ‘vision’ of what the Classic project should be?
I can’t, every reason they’ve given has only shown how out of touch with the climate of the game they are. Don’t back down or accept compromises, demand original RDF.
If the tool stays how it is, people are just going to list themselves for something random and just use lfg chat to fill as we do now, effectively killing the tool for anyone using it how it is intended.
that’s incredibly dumb. i can already see plenty of situations where i apply as a dps but the host is afk or doesn’t notice the beeping somehow and i don’t get looked at and by the time i do get declined multiple other groups running the same content will be gone and i lost my chance at applying to them
Oh yeah, I don’t agree with any of them.
I’m just saying I can see why they’d come up with this BS. Because, ;let’s be real, they are full of and are 100% out of touch with the community.
Even I have shared links to like 6 different polls multiple times on these forums. One was with 28k replies and other one was with 25k replies conducted by wowlogs. All are like 80:20 in support of RDF at launch.
oh yeah man. I rolled my eyes so hard when I heard it.
Like, is he for real? He is using it as an argument against RDF. Okay, but can you pull the same stunt for MGT Heroic? Or Shattered Halls Heroic? LMAO.
And, what, people who use RDF are not allowed to say a word?
I have more active conversations on retail than I do in Classic. Why? Because we don’t waste 30-60m gettng a group together spamming “inv” trying to snipe groups. We get together, apply/accept, and ready go to in 5-10 minutes and we talk because none of us are actually sick & tired of waiting for people.
Pagle is like 10k. There is no reason for peole to do dungeons. RDF provided that incentives for everyone to do run dungeons. Daily.
If it stays as is, it will be worse. People simply won’t use it. BB straight up offers more freedom in putting the group together.
You should spend some time on Retail, most of your questions/concerns are addressed by playing the game for any short amount of time.
It’s pretty clear Blizzard want Classic and Retail to mimic one another more closely for whatever reason, probably because it’s a lot easier to bring junior developers familiar with retail into the classic pipeline when the occasion calls for more resources.
