Blizzard, seriously, stop making race- and class-based transmog FOMO

I like the Troll backpiece and shield but I’m not spending 80k each on them. They can keep that.

I think limited time rewards like KSM mounts and gladiator swag are good for the game. They entice people to participate in content while it’s current and you’re rewarded for not waiting until you outlevel it or your class becomes OP.

Having said that…

I don’t agree with limited time vendor items like this. What’s the point? Grats you bought a token in 2024? There’s no content to beat or event to participate in. This is Blizzard keeping gold sellers (themselves and third parties) in business by refusing to make gold worthless. If they truly wanted it to be a gold sink, it should stay so future players could sink their gold too.

This is the actual reason it was added.

Gold sinks only work if you don’t have a constant source of fresh gold coming in with every $20 purchase of a token. And the economy’s been screwed up since WoD, it ain’t getting any better now.

It’s too bad they couldn’t have made the fetishes a part of Troll quest rewards instead of trading post and BMAH stuff.

They gave Blood Elves extra quests to give us more stuff after our initial heritage armor quests. They could have done something similar for the Darkspear.

Yeah, that’s my biggest qualm with it, would like to see troll stuff be gotten through quests (or the upcoming troll heritage). Would def not drop 1.2 mil on a golden bug, unless it has a tmog/repair/ah person on it that I am not seeing. Will probably grab the polearm and gun, but everything else is pretty mid for the prices.

Its unfortunate but there are ppl who are simply unable to see long term impact

It says in the article it’ll be on the bmah if anyone misses it.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of the color scheme. I’ll probably get the HD sword though. One of my favorite models. And the mount is +1.

There’s nothing exciting here.

Keep in mind that some items take years to appear there and some items can bid up to gold cap. The BMAH is not a guarantee at items.

But it’s not unobtainable for those that really want it.

And let’s be honest, they’re kinda gross looking. They won’t get to gold cap.

I mean if it’s like several items that are supposed to be on the BMAH, it is essentially unobtainable.

Gross looking is subjective.

I dunno.

6 months to make 75k is definitely a token selling scheme

Huh let’s use the real figure: 2.1 million.

If the spawn rates on the BMAH aren’t awful like the Bruto is, then theyll have a better chance, but the BMAH does indeed still suck regardless with its horrible RNG implementation of the number of items available and yada yada.

The prices are fine; adding them to BMAH after a time isn’t. Having merchants throughout the world(s) who offer rare and expensive items is more interesting than the BMAH.

OP isnt complaining about buying everything. Just a few select race/class based transmogs. So if anything, 235k is the basis for OP’s complaints. Two 80k items, one 75k item.

That being said, I’d be fine if they stayed year round.

And if we are going to say that the “person who must absolutely do every single thing in WoW” is their target demographic with tokens, well. Thats a poor business model due to how few of those people exist.

There’s so many things that are better to focus on in this game than 5 recolors of items. I’m a huge fan of limited time awards or items and I hope they don’t go away. I do respect your right to have a different opinion but remember that’s all it is…an opinion. You don’t speak for everyone.

True, the OP is talking about the racial stuff, but you mentioned the scheme and no, 75k isn’t much of a scheme but I think 2.1m is closer to one.

Sure. But I think for 2.1 million scheme idea they’d have to make the items something everyone will more generally want. Regardless of what class/race they are on. Regardless of number of alts. I look at it, and I might buy like 2 items. Not even specifically out of desire. But because I cant physically use the others.

You’d need like 6-7 different characters to take advantage of everything sold. Whereas something like the brutosaur, any character could use it.

I think most people are going to buy every thing just in case because it’s going away, which is exactly what Blizzard wants. It really does feel like Longboi all over again, down to the month he was removed.

Yep, the company is going crazy now with increased monetization schemes.
