It’s good and bad because they aren’t looking at a “pure” experience. It looks like they are heavily weighing QoL changes to make a Classic+ experience. Based off the way some of these questions are phrased it seems inevitably going to happen at some point. Hopefully Q4 if I had to guess.

The wording of this survey indicates they are considering a fresh classic that may instead of locking at classic progress to TBC without transfers. Organically the way it originally did.

I’m excited at the idea of a Classic “progression” server where it goes 22 months through Classic, then the Dark Portal opens and we do TBC for 22 months, then we have a Scourge invasion and we do WOTLK. I wish it would of been like this to begin with. I am a little nervous about the idea of making some QoL changes and possible cash shop interaction.

I’m not opposed to a classic+ experience if they went the route of say OSRS, where they come up with ideas and allow the community to vote on the ideas to be added. It would mean they’d have to be willing to have an actual back and forth with the community though.
I mean, a fresh server wouldn’t be development time, it would just mean creating a new server that has no pre-existing players on it.

I think a fresh server of some sort, whether TBC or vanilla, was inevitable.
After wrath, I can see this evolving to progression servers where it cycles through the expansions.

Just because people are screeching and whining about it, it doesn’t mean its a horrible idea not worth considering.
Historically going off of other seasonal and fresh server content on private servers and other blizzard games, its short lived and needs to be cycled back in continuously or it just dies quickly.

Blizzard just do it, ignore the haters. Everquest does seasonal servers and they’re good.
